Sandra the host was really friendly welcoming us to her home and really came through as we were in a pinch for Wifi. The house is very rustic, so if this is what you are looking for, this is the place.

We enjoyed our stay in Stonington and had fun exploring the area. The house was in a convenient location to all the points of interest. It is a very old home from the colonial era with a beautiful stone fireplace. Sitting on the back patio we watched the horses grazing in the fie…

Tons of charm! Great location with easy access to the highway, Mystic, New London, and nearly Stonington Village. Upstairs suites are modern and well updated, with 2 suites having gas fireplaces. One modern tub and shower are available if the claw foot experience isn’t your thing…

Response from Sandra:
Brian and his family held a Christmas family reunion here which happened to coincide perfectly with the two coldest weeks in the last 100 years in Connecticut. It was colder here in December than it usually is in February! The ground floor of the house is heated primarily by radiators (not fireplaces) but no furnace can keep up with single digit temperatures for days on end in a 300 year old house. We've owned this property since 2001 and never seen a winter like this one. We were also unaware that Brian would be using our house as the principle location for the family get-together. We had understood from the original booking request that they were here to visit family in a nearby town and would have a couple of family members staying with them part of the time. We didn't worry much about the possibility of the downstairs being cold if we got a cold snap (never thought we'd have a 14 days COLD snap) because we thought they'd be off visiting people during the day (rather than the other way around). Great guests and very patient with the challenges of a colonial home. Thanks!

We really enjoyed our time in Sandra's historic home – our group cooked a full Thanksgiving Dinner here and were very cozy by the bedroom fireplaces. The house was ideally situated for day trips to Rhode Island, and a very short drive from cute downtown Stonington (recommend Noah…
