Our little cabin at Maura's proved to be the perfect lakeside hideaway after long days touring the region's wineries and hiking the surprisingly dramatic canyon trails a half hour or so away. Maura's place is an easy drive to both Ithaca and Watkins Glen, yet it's incredibly serene, set in a district of beautiful vineyards and large farms. There are at least two great farm-to-table restaurants close by, Dano's and Stone Cat. And in between the day's touring and dinners out, there's always the waterfront--a nice place to take a quick swim, head out a kayak, or simply nap on the dock.

The Spur is an idyllic lakeside retreat and Maura has everything in place for a perfect stay at the Finger Lakes. She's gone the extra mile in terms of amenities and details, going above and beyond the expected. It's an incredible value across the board, and Maura is a very gracious and welcoming host. An enchanting stay at a magical location!

Our stay at Maura's was fantastic. The pictures don't do it justice. The views were phenomenal, the cabin was quaint and perfect for two, and Maura's knowledge of the area led us to great places!

Maura is the epitome of a great host - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The property is wonderful. We loved watching the sunset from the at the end of the dock and our little cabin was cozy and romantic. Can't wait to come back!

The cabin was cozy and well situated by Seneca lake. Maura was a super star host and had great recommendations for local winery's, breweries and restaurants. She made us feel welcome and at home.

Maura's cabins are the perfect place for a couple's getaway. My husband and I just recently rented a cabin for 3 nights (originally 2 but we lucked out and were able to extend our trip!) to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. The cabins were cute and cozy and the scenery was beautiful (being on the east side of the lake you catch a beautiful view of the sunset). There was plenty to do on the grounds such as kayak, paddle board, read a book on the dock, or enjoy a fire (either up top or on the beach). It is also conveniently located to several wineries, breweries, and hiking spots. Maura goes above and beyond as a host to make sure you feel welcome and she has some great suggestions for local spots to check out. I have tried recommending this place to 2 other couples already but the dates they were looking at are already booked up - therefore if you are considering booking do so quickly so you don't miss out!

Maura was a fantastic host and we enjoyed our two nights in the cozy cabin. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the proximity to the lake and the use of the kayaks. The wifi in the cabin worked very well, also. It was a nice touch to have some bottles of water in the fridge and also a couple granola bars, which were great for a quick breakfast before kayaking.

For me, sunsets are the most important, special part of life and to know that I can enjoy them just about everyday is wonderful. My search for the best sunsets brought me to The Spur on the East side of Seneca lake. Truth be told, there are beautiful sunset views up and down the East side of the lake. I am fortunate to have enjoyed many of them having friends and family in the area. And there are wonderful views on other Finger Lakes too. So perhaps my quest for the best sunset continues and I recommend that you start with one on The Spur. I promise you will be impressed!
