About this listing
LUC 22 offers secluded, private boutique accommodation and personalised service in a spectacular, tranquil alpine location in Queenstown. With uninterrupted views, eclectic contemporary design and attention to detail, a stay at LUC 22 is unlike any other.
Modern industrial architecture meets old-world charm.
Luc 22 was designed in harmony with its natural alpine environment. The exterior corten steel blends in with the iron color of the mountain ranges, while the interior light rough-sewn cedar walls are reminiscent of the surrounding forest, bringing the outdoors in.
Stepping inside the front door, black-and-white Italian tiles lead you to the natural hardwood entry stairs: your first glimpse at Luc 22’s eclectic style. Up the stairs, you will find sliding barn doors, warm, rich hues, rough industrial steel furnishings, and art, treasures, and stories from all over the world.
The kitchen features copper fittings, a Smeg retro-style fridge, a classic English AGA range for traditional cooking, and an old Belgian blue stone trough sink. Not to mention one of greatest chefs in the region.
Enter the lounge, where floor-to-ceiling views of stunning New Zealand scenery await. Deer mounts and old recycled Australian ironwood beams define the space overhead, while a Norwegian classic Jotul woodburner rests on an irregular slate hearth below. This is the heart of Luc 22: a place to gather, converse, unwind, and restore.
You choose what to do – or what not to do – at Luc 22. Experience the pleasure of a walk along the waterfront; discover the alpine wilderness on a helicopter-hike; or simply settle down with a good book overlooking the whole world. However you wish to spend your time, Luc 22 will be your home away from home, with all of its comforts. Think homemade biscuits, sheepskin rugs, organic local produce, crisp cotton sheets, and a warm fire.
Enjoy the private upstairs bedroom, lounge and ensuite, made perfectly for two. Sophisticated neutrals, natural textures, and international treasures elegantly furnish the room. Fine cotton bedding and luxurious pillows guarantee a good night’s rest. White marble ensuite with clawfoot tub and rainfall showerhead leave you feeling clean and refreshed. But the master suite’s greatest feature is the view: large, clear vistas of the gorgeous lake and surrounding mountains.
Guests can access the entire house apart from the owner's private room on the first floor and garage.
