Beautiful, quiet neighborhood location in the heart of Washington University area -- within walking distance to popular restaurants , music venues. Really pretty biking area if you decide to rent a bike. Majestic tree lined street with old, brick vintage houses representative of the St. Louis wealth era. If you appreciate and love the artistry of an old, vintage era home with creaky floors, lots of era designed windows and lovely sitting porches (there are two), this is for YOU. If you cook, the kitchen is calling you! Bright, sunny, updated, with gas stove, dishwasher, and a sitting porch off the kitchen so you can take a wine break while your chicken soup is simmering on the stove. Very comfortable and clean, but not fancy (this is an old house, so expect an old house). Hosts added lots of cute, thoughtful touches, like an old record player with a few LP's, Starbuck's coffee, soft sheets, generous blankets and towels. Good WiFi. Fresh flowers and candles on the porches. Adequately stocked fridge with thoughtful food & beverage offerings. Hosts will probably stock breakfast items you'd prefer if arranged ahead of time or have children travelling with you. They aim to please. This reviewer grew up in a 100 year old home, so staying here was especially appreciated.
