Soak in the culture of our neighborhood here in Deep Cove. Drop in
to the ‘honour store’ at Smyth’s Farm for fresh grown produce and
homemade jams – just up the road from PJ's. Then visit the Deep
Cove Market for delicious fare from local growers and makers, perfect for
grabbing snacks on the go or preparing a meal at the house. Make sure
to stop along the roadside and pick some fresh blackberries!
Hike John Dean Provincial Park to Pickles’ Bluff. Explore a pristine old growth forest and panoramic views just minutes from town.
Wander the shops and waterfront of Beacon Avenue, and grab the best coffee in town at Quince Café… Experience The Roost farm café and bakery for lunch. All ingredients used are from the farm/orchards and vineyard. Sit out on the patio and enjoy the sunshine or heaters on a cool day. Taste some locally made, award-winning ciders at Sea Cider Orchard.
On Thursday nights Beacon Avenue comes alive with the Sidney Street Market from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. Browse local vendors and sample tastes of the island, with musicians and artist tucked in alongside.
If you’re too tired to cook back at our place… Head back down Beacon Avenue for spectacular waterfront dining at Haro’s Restaurant, or enjoy a warm seaside pub atmosphere at The Surly Mermaid.
Catch the sunset from a paddle-board at Madrona Beach, just 1 km down the road from our place. A neighborhood favourite for swimming, relaxing with friends, and exploring the tidal shallows.
Don’t forget to leave some time for relaxing in our gardens and pool.
Some guests decide not to leave our grounds at all! We are happy to suggest more activities at any time.
