We would like to share our big old Darwin beachfront apartment. You would have the room in the ‘west wing’ while our bedroom is at the other end of the house.
We love meeting people. Depending on how long you stay, we'd love to share a meal. Josh will loan you his pool pass to cool off in the Nightcliff pool.
Our place is a unique & special angle on this city, right beside beautiful Rapid Creek, close to the airport, the uni and to the delicious food at the Sat/Sun markets.
One of the few houses that survived cyclone Tracey. Our home is large but not conventionally modern. It looks a bit rough from the outside and the bathroom is ordinary but it works. The highlight for us and everyone who visits, is the location vibe and the massive long balcony facing across to the water.
You very much have your own space at the other end of the house. We have good internet included and a hefty washing machine. Plenty of off street parking (great for travellers).
My husband Josh won an international hospitality award from Airbnb for his place down south. We both love Darwin and would love to give you a sense of how to navigate the north.
This is one of the best locations if you are looking to explore the real end of Darwin. Perfect if you are coming for the university too.
Own bedroom. Shared bathroom. Lots of space to share.
Interaction with guests
We are often away on weekends. And always during the weekdays. Evenings we can be busy/winding down, but it doesn't mean we don't like company.
Other things to note
The road in front of our property is not quiet, but because it’s Darwin, it quietens down on nights and weekdays.
The property is old and looks very tired from the outside. Don’t judge the block by its cover. It’s a really cool and comfy pad.
There are two flats downstairs who need to be respected. They are awesome people and could give you good fishing tips.
- Turn off AC/Fans and lights when you leave the room
- If air con is used most of the time during your stay, there will be an additional fee of $5 per day
- No loud music after 9pm
- No extra guests unless communicated with owners
- Put all rubbish in the outside bins when you leave
- If you break it or use it all up - replace it
Recently I have been dodging crocodiles, middle-school students and midges in Northern Australia. I've been involved here with different art projects and education research opportunities. My husband and I have met some great people through the Airbnb community. Meeting people and experiencing new places helps me to listen and learn.
