We stayed at Jerry's cabin for 1 week. I don't even know where to start. We had such a fantastic, relaxing time. The Cabin is literally perfect! Most comfortable bed of our trip, wood fire, fully, equipped kitchen, fridge, amazing shower with hot water 24/7, hammock, tv, wifi. Location is fantastic! 2 minute walk to the store with fresh produce, meats, wine etc. 5 minute walk to town and beach. On a very quiet street with no noise. Jerry is a great host, we even had him over for dinner one night. He gave us lots of great local information, was always making sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended.

Jeronimo was really helpful, especially his communication with us before our arrival, which made our journey very easy. Also he is a very (eco-:))friendly host, speaking perfect english and willing to help out with anything! We would recommend this place to anyone traveling to punta del diablo. PS to the Surfers: He will know and share with you where its the best to surf. :)

The houses are in a perfect location with beautiful gardens, and near to all amenities, though be aware that even with the windows open all day there is a problem with damp/mould in the small houses. Patrick was a fantastic host and couldn't have made me feel more welcome, he was always around if needed and was happy to help in any way. I only met Jeronimo on my last day when he returned from Europe. After checking over the house he told me that he would usually keep $20 of the $100 cash deposit I given on arrival to pay to wash the bed sheets and blanket covering the couch as my dog had been living with me in the house (something he had agreed to at the time of booking), I would assume that washing these items between guests is something which should be done anyway, and also to pay to wash damp mould off the walls, something which is an issue with the building. He 'let me off' these charges as he didn't have change of the $100 deposit. In general I had an great time, only soured by this encounter on my last day.

Response from Jeronimo:
Last time I accept a guest with a dog. I made an exception because Isobel told me she would be very careful. Patrick and me we asked Isobel to open windows and curtains to gett fresh air and sun inside the house, because in winter time by the ocean it is very humid. If you do this you will never have a problem with damp/mould. So after Isobel left, we had to clean all the house wood with clorus, paint the walls and wash every curtain, pillow, matress, etc... because they were full of dog hair and smell, so this dog was not well controlled to respect thing that other guests will use later... even these circunstances we did not take nothing of the diposit...

We had an incredible time in Jeronimo's house. He was pleasant, making everything enjoyable. His cabanas are just perfect, located in a beautiful area, with easy access to the beach, the city center and other facilities.

We love El Jardin Diablo, and Jeronimo is an amazing host! He went out of his way to show us the ropes, and even picked us up at the bus terminal as there were no taxis available. We stayed for a month, and are returning in December to stay with a friend of his for 4 months. There are three buildings on the property, each with its own deck and parrilla, and beautiful garden views (no mean feat in the sandy soil) with fresh air flow. Jeronimo is a fun guy to hang around, always smiling, and puttering about the garden. We shared stories and beer, and he even played tour guide to some local surf spots. When the sunnier (and more expensive) house was available, he offered for us to move into it, but we were already quite settled and happy with the one we were in. As we were scouting ahead for a longer stay, Jeronimo proved an invaluable resource in getting the lay of the land and introducing us to the locals, his English is excelent and his Spain Spanish is easy to follow if you're learning. The location is perfect, just far enough to not be dead center of the tourist mob scene, but still only a 15min stroll from downtown and the beach. The grocery store/carniceria is less than two blocks away via the shortcut, and the local dogs are friendly and healthy. Parada Una, which many buses stop at, is about 400 meters away, which is helpful when coming in with baggage. There is also parking and a carport, a sweet fireplace, and kitchen that can really be put to work with four gas burners and a surprising amount of functional prep space. We loved our stay, and recommend Jardin Diablo to any and all, and we are excited to move into the neighborhood and have Jeronimo as friend and neighbor.

I am from Barcelona, Spain. Always loved to be in touch with the nature (I am a ski and diving instructor). In these days I spend summer in Punta del Diablo (Uruguay), and summer in Lloret de Mar (Costa Brava, Cataluña).

I really like to meet new travellers, enjoy a good grill, paella or glass of wine with my guests and share my books and my knowledge of the aerea.

In my place life is easy-going and I only ask my guests little things like: Please keep the music sound in a correct tone or please after 11 p.m no noise outside your house...
