The space

The famous Bergmanstrasse goes all the way to Mehringdamm with lots of shops and restaurants. It is the neighborhood that made the reputation of Kreuzberg. Every weekend there is a flea market with vintage clothing and cool furniture, the famous Marheineke foodhall is located right next to it.

The apartment is 55 square meters big and located on the first floor, with high ceilings typical of old Berlin buildings. There is one bedroom and a living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge and oven. The bathroom has a shower and a washing machine.

Ten minutes walk away, the Tempelhof airport field offers an exceptional park. It was decommissioned in 2008 and you can walk the airplane tracks: an experience everyone should try. When there is wind it is populated with kites. A beer garden is installed in the middle.

The nearest subway station (Gneisenaustraße‎ 5 minutes walk) is three stops away from Checkpoint Charlie and five stops away from Brandenburger Gate. A bike shop in Bergmanstrasse (fahrradstation) rents bikes: they are the preferred transportation in Berlin. A taxi station can be found near the subway.

We had a great stay in Jihan's apartment. The place is in a fantastic location, with a beautiful church right at the bottom of the street, plenty of supermarkets and bars nearby, and only a few minutes walk to the u-bahn. The apartment is a lovely space, with a good level of cleanliness, and with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Plenty of towels and extra blankets and duvets if you need them too. It was nice and warm for us during the Berlin winter time, which we greatly appreciated! We had a slight problem with the shower being blocked and we would have liked some curtains or blinds in the living room as with the beautiful big windows we felt sort of on show. These issues, however, wouldn't impact on us recommending the place to friends or to anyone staying in Berlin.

Jihan has a spacious and neat appartment, in a great area - lots of restaurants and coffeeplaces around and enough spots to have breakfast. Even late at night you feel comfortable in this neighbourhood. The bed is big and comfortable. We arrived late (around half past ten at night) but that was no problem. We had a great time and can recommend this place!

Jihan's apartment was as in the pictures! Very nice and in a cosy area. It was easy to go everywhere by public transportation. We would definately recommend Jihan as host.
