This home is in a scenic location.
Stay in one of our unique Mongolian yurts with hand painted artwork, sky views and gorgeous nature all around. At the Heart center we take special interest in providing our guests with a uniquely peaceful, positive, comfortable, and relaxing experience! Whether you are laying on a hammock, walking the labyrinth, or sitting on the deck taking in the sights and sounds, we want you to enjoy.
Showers/bathrooms available in gym. Grill/firepit. Heated. Wi-Fi available outside yurt in main area.

The space
We are truly all about the people. It is our goal to connect with everyone that comes here and to offer a holistic, respectful and friendly sanctuary for the mind, body and spirit. We provide restorative and healing experiences, including Reiki, Non Dual Kabbalistic healing and meditation and contemplation practices. You can partake or just come for the peaceful and beautiful atmosphere.
The Heart Center is close to all major attractions. We are less than 15 minutes from the Tail of the Dragon, Cheolah River, Cheolah Lake; twenty minutes from Fontana Dam, Yellow Creek Falls, 20 Mile Ranger Station, Lake Santeetlah and Fontana Village. Also close to Joyce Kilmer and Cherohala Skyway.
We have a tennis court and gym, indoor eating cafeteria, and large picnic are with grills and volleyball, available for groups.
The yurt has electric plug for fan or heater,, as well as, insulation.
There is a landline available for emergencies and WIFi by the office area.

This is an incredibly gorgeous area, a hidden gem. It is pristine, wild, and unique. We are surrounded by large lakes, like Santeetlah, Cheolah, and Fontana. Cheolah River is just minutes away. Joyce Kilmer National Forest, 20 Mile Ranger Station, Fontana Dam, Cherohala Skyway, and Yellow Creek Falls are some of the areas most visited landmarks and we are close to all of them. This is nature at its best!

Hello I am Liz. I live in the great Smoky Mountains National Park area at The Heart Center. I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, swimming, waterskiing, tennis and working outdoors on the land. In my spare time, I love to travel, take photographs or read books, meditate, hike, and swim in the beautiful lakes in my area. My favorite places to travel to so far are all natural parks, Spain, London, Sedona, Arizona, India, Mexico, and South America. I am very blessed to have a beautiful family and, in the last two years, a perfect and wonderful grandson, Thomas Dante, whom I am enjoying thoroughly! I am a socio/cultural anthropologist by education and I love the concept of learning about people from a holistic perspective. My life's passion is in serving and empowering people to live a more peaceful, loving, joyful, and healthy life through teaching them about letting go of the past; practicing meditation to embrace the present moment; holistic living; restorative, intuitive energy work to come into alignment, balance and harmony; and, the inter-connectedness of all things. I am a Reiki master and have training in Non-Dual Kabbalistic Healing, which uses the ancient teachings of the Kabbalah to restore balance and harmony. I teach various modalities of meditation and contemplation. I also founded a not for profit camp for abused, neglected and disadvantaged children. We have been doing the free camp for 10 years now. I love children, people, animals and nature. I look forward to a day when we all truly recognize our "Oneness", living in love, peace and harmony. I have a beautiful dog named Wayah, which means wolf in Cherokee. She is half wolf and half German Sheppard. She has such a great personality that all my guests love her and want to take her home with them. Not happening! I once took a silent retreat and the motto was "May all beings be happy." I like that! Therefore, the Heart Center, the 30 acre retreat surrounded by National Forest, is dedicated to giving our guests a comfortable, peaceful, restorative and joyful experience!
