This cozy house is walking distance from downtown Belfast, the Belfast Rail Trail, and the Belfast Harbor. The house is a romantic nest for two or a crash pad for up to six. Live comfortably while gaining easy access to all the cool adventures Mid-Coast Maine offers.

Please note this is a real older house in a real neighborhood. It is eco-friendly and I do not use pesticides. You may see harmless house spiders, birds and plants. If you are looking for a hotel experience, please stay in a hotel.

The space
My home is open to anyone regardless of your background or identity. It’s a lovely bungalow style house with a full kitchen with all the kitchen tools you need to cook using easily obtained local food. It has a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, full stove with oven, all pots, pans and dishes, and all silver and utensils you might need. Due to the age of the house it is not wheelchair friendly - there are stairs to both entrances. It does have a grip rail for the bathtub/shower. The Belfast Co-op and two local farmer's markets are walking distance away.

The sleeping arrangements offer great flexibility - there is a bedroom with a queen bed, another with twin bunk beds, and also a comfortable futon couch. There is also plenty of room in the yard to set up a tent if you prefer to enjoy the fresh ocean air flowing off the bay.

The front porch provides a relaxing place to watch the sky and listen to the wind blow through the willow tree leaves.

The house is heated and cooled with a heat pump which allows you to keep the space the perfect temperature at all times. It also has backup baseboard heat. There is a washer and dryer in the basement if you need to cycle some clothes during a longer stay.

Guest access
You will have the full house during your stay.

Other things to note
This house is in the Head of Tide neighborhood in Belfast, and is surrounded by local homes. Please be respectful of your proximity to others who live here year round and keep noise and activity to a reasonable and respectful level, especially after 9 pm.

The house is fronted on a moderately busy road - please be attentive to your children if you bring them.

The proximity this house provides you to downtown Belfast is awesome. You are only two minutes walking away from Waterfall Arts, an amazing local art center that hosts all kinds of classes for kids and adults, a gallery, lots of events and music, and a farmer's market.

Another three minutes walking puts you in the heart of downtown Belfast, which is an amazing small town! Here are some of my favorites:

Check out the Colonial Theater for the latest movies in a gorgeous art deco theater with three screens. There are lots of awesome restaurants (faves: Nautlius, Meanwhile in Belfast, Delvino's, Laan Xang, Chase's Daily, Darby's), local breweries/bars (Rollies, Three Tides, Front Street Pub), two delicious ice cream shops (The Chocolate Drop Candy Shop, Wild Cow Creamery), and so many cool stores (Coyote Moon, The Green Store, Colburn's Shoes, Justine, The Good Table, Eat More Cheese, Yo Momma's, Side Country Sports and Bike Shop - you can rent bikes there, and on and on).

The Belfast area is chock full of outdoor activities: you can hike, bike, kayak, paddleboard, sail, walk, ski, skate - anything you want, we do it! There are local schooners at the Belfast harbor to book a sailing trip on (Timberwind, Amity), as well as places to rent bikes, kayaks and other gear (Side Country Sports, Water Walker, Ducktrap Kayak). Local trails and preserves include the Belfast Rail Trail, the Hills to the Sea trail, Stover Preserve, Bald Mountain (towards Camden), Head of Tide Preserve, Sears Island (near Searsport), Moose Point State Park, Camden Hill State Park, and so many more!

And of course Belfast is a great jumping off place for the full range of what Maine offers: visit Islesboro (twenty minutes drive to ferry, twenty minute ferry ride), Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor (hour and a half drive), Camden and Mount Batty (twenty minute drive), Baxter State Park and Katahdin (two hour drive), on and on...
