Stylish, one room living in gorgeous, central Leelanau Co- bustling village of Lake Leelanau, close to Leland. Minnow guesthouse is light & bright bringing the beauty of the surrounding gardens into a cozy space. Perfect base camp for relaxing & exploring!
We welcome visitors & hope you find comfort in this eco-friendly, homey place. A big comfy sofa, snug loft bed, soft sheets, walk-in shower, mini fridge. Great main rd location in village center, easy walk to wineries, restaurants, & grocery.

The space
Originally part of the big house (a hotel built in 1902), we renovated the bedrooms and bath to create a unique guest quarters--a fab one room living space (315 sq feet interior), designed to comfortably host two.

The Minnow provides a clean, cozy, quiet getaway, while still being open and airy with large windows facing the private gardens of the property. Much of the materials used in decorating this space were repurposed and recycled from the old hotel or were reclaimed from other older properties.

Of Note: The sleeping area has an alternating staircase to access a queen bed. It is a little easier than a ladder but, not stairs--so it won't be for everyone. It is steep. The sleeping nook is only the size of the mattress and is compact and cozy. (Think top bunk.) There is limited headroom. Please ask if you have any questions about this feature.

Sustainability is important to us. In creating this space we used as much recycled and repurposed materials as possible. Where we could not, we chose goods that were the most sustainable available. We continue to strive to offer a low environmental impact visit to our guests. This includes: an organic kitchen garden (in season), locally sourced milk and breakfast goods, plant and essential oil based cleaning products (we make it), recycled toilet paper (read the wrapper), and we continue to look for more opportunities to improve.

Where you’ll be

Lake Leelanau, Michigan, United States

Our place is the heart of Leelanau County, on the main road in the bustling village of Lake Leelanau, within easy walking distance of a grocery store with excellent Indian cuisine, a farm to table cafe, bar, four wine tasting rooms, and a distillery. You can also have a spa, take a yoga class, or rent a standup paddle board just across the street.
The surrounding neighborhood is quiet and family oriented. However, Minnow is on the main street through town and there can be traffic noise.

30 minute drive to the Sleeping Bear Lakeshore, 30 minute drive to foodie town of Traverse City, minutes from dozens of beaches, several wineries, and hiking & biking trails. Rent a kayak or SUP across the street and walk to water access to explore beautiful south and north Lake Leelanau--from the narrows. This is central Leelanau County!
