Copperleigh Trout Lodge is a double story self-catering unit built next to the calm waters of the 10ha trout stocked Mavela Dam, a fly fisherman's dream. Our sheep and beef cattle farm is located in picturesque Dargle, with the popular Midlands Meander and it's many activities nearby. Only 1h30min from Durban and 30mins from the town of Howick.

A quiet place for families & friends to relax and catch up, fish for trout, bird watch or hike up Inhlosane mountain which is just a short drive away.

The space
It is a two story house located on Copperleigh Farm. The open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room are located on the ground floor along with the garage and guest toilet. Complimentary bundle of firewood is provided each morning.

There are 3 bedrooms upstairs (2 have queen size beds and the loft room is perfect for 4 children as it has a bunk bed and a queen size bed ); two bathrooms which each feature a shower & toilet.

Kids love the farm animals, there's a large garden to play in, a kayak and tractor tube to swim in the dam with. Indoor entertainment includes TV with DSTV Premium, free WiFi, boardgames, toys and books.

Guest access
Private access road to the Lodge.

Free access to the trout stocked Mavela Dam, No Additional Rod or Catch fees if using your own fly fishing equipment to fly fish. Rods may be rented for a fee.

Large lawn for children to play and a beautiful garden to enjoy. There is a stream which runs along the edge of the garden and into the dam.

If swimming in the dam the use of life jackets are encouraged. Please bring swimming towels as they are not provided.

There are a couple of short walks you can take on the farm.

The sheep can be seen going out to pasture at 7:30 in the morning and returning in the afternoon for feeding time. There are also other farmyard animals to see such as chickens, ducks and bunnies.

* Deposit Policy: Deposit needs to be paid within 48 hours of making the reservation in order to confirm the reservation.

* Check-In: From 14h00 - 18h00.
* Check-Out: 10h00.
Occasionally we can accommodate an early check in or a late check out, please contact management to confirm.

* Please text or call Ashley with an ETA of your arrival. We want to be able to meet you and provide a short walk-through of the unit with the primary occupant.

* No Pets Allowed as we are a working farm.

* No Smoking Allowed inside the unit.
