You haven't seen a pice of paradise yet? Then you have to go straightly to Martz-Farm where you can find perfect nature, excellent horses, a georgeous Milky Way at night which is just more impressive when Joe tells you one of his wonderful poems. Miriam, our great host, gaves us always the feeling to be welcome and part of the family. We had wonderful moments sharing our experiences. Surprisingly there were almost no Moskitos and the nights cool down, so no AC ist needed. We definitely can recommend this place and looking foward to see these folks again. Miriam, Joe, Lukas and Joshua Thank you for the great time!!!

When we first arrived, we saddled up and went on a horse back ride with Jo. It was one of the most memorable experiences Jason and I have ever had. Jo knows every plant, every critter, and is a great guide. We saw the land, the Jungle untouched as far as the eyes can see, heard the howler monkeys, and watched spectacular sunset, with the super moon. The experiences we had were so personal, unique, spiritual, and full of love, and friendships made- we will go back one day. We loved it so much and feel a deep connection to the Family and the Land. I know you are trying to decide weather are not this is the place for you, so here is a break down: 1. Its the Jungle. There are animals- critters even the plants move! Didn't see a mosquito which was surprising, so thats a huge plus. But you may have a spider or some other harmless friend visit you. be prepared to see crazy bugs and get dirty. 2. The rooms are wonderful, cozy and minimal. We stayed in the garden room 2 nights which has no electricity, the candle light and a thatch roof made for cozy fun quiet evenings. We did have a few visitors here, adds to the adventure! We moved to the the main building with electricity, a metal roof for 4 nights, and We actually missed the other room. Next time we will stay in the treehouse. 3. Miriam is a fantastic cook. Eat with them as much as you can, that was some of our favorite times, sitting with the kids and other guests around the dinner table. 4. Miriam and Jo know how to book excursions. trust them!! Do what they recommend, be open to adventures, and get an early start for the tourist traps! 5. Our top excursions were the 2 horse back rides, one to the cave, which was really incredible. we did a pontoon ride with Jo's brother Laz, and we went to Tikal. If you are looking for a unique experience, love nature, enjoy a good adventure, and meeting new people this is the place. Leave your expectations behind, open your heart and your mind, and you will have a truly unique adventure, its the jungle, no day is the same!

Miriam and Joe are sweet, thoughtful hosts, who made our stay in Belize beyond comfortable- and really personal. They really made us feel immediately like part of their family- hanging out with their kids and other guests, sharing old stories over candlelit dinners at the end of the day- what a wonderful experience! Miriam carefully prepared delicious home-cooked gluten free meals and snack bars- outdoorsy adventures can be tough for those with serious health problems like celiac's disease and diabetes, and I felt like I could really disconnect from constant meal planning during my trip- I've never had anything like that outside of home before. Joe is also an amazing storyteller, and his love for nature and willingness to share the Belizean alcoves of his childhood with us made the trip so unique and meaningful. They have a series of outdoorsy adventures that you can choose from during your stay- we opted for a trip to Tikal with a family friend, a Pontoon boat trip with Joe's siblings, and a day of horseback riding and cave exploring with Joe. All were AMAZING and absolutely worth it! Martz farm is also a magical place- words really and truly cannot due it justice. You are surrounded by nature- trees, monkeys howling, horses running to the creek behind their house to drink water. I absolutely recommend staying with Miriam and Joe- and I look forward to going back to continue discovering the beauties of Western Belize with them in the future! PS > Don't forget to bring a flashlight to walk to your room at night, and bonus- there are basically no bugs here, so no need to slather on bug spray. Also, WIFI access is very limited- but being off the grid is such a wonderful luxury :)!

Miriam and Joe and their family made us feel so welcome on this property. The garden room we stayed in was comfortable, and I loved sitting in a hammock on the veranda in the mornings. We very much enjoyed the delicious meals cooked by Miriam. We did a horseback ride with Joe which was quite an adventure and had some absolutely stunning scenery. Would recommend anyone to stay at Martz Farm, and we hope to be back again!

Miriam and the family are super kind and accommodating. We were able to stay in the tree house with the waterfall beneath us. The location was truly a fun adventure to get to and definitely worth the drive to go there. I would highly recommend this space if you're eco friendly but need a touch of modern comfort.

We had a great time with Miriam and the Martinez family! We stayed two nights in the tree house and 1 night in the garden room and had a great Belize vacation. On night one we went on a little hike through a waterfall with Miriam's two sons before dinner. The farm house is the perfect serene setting for reading a book in the hammocks. They have a long list of activities that you can do for half or full days. We went horse back riding through the jungle and hiked through some caves on Day 2, and traveled to Guatemala to see Tikal on Day 3. Both were easy trips (no organization/logistics hassle on our part) and made for interesting sight seeing and physical days! (a lot of walking in Tikal, hiking in the caves, and horse back riding was great even though we haven't ridden in 5-10 yrs). The kids were so fun to get to know, and the family made a great host. Miriam is a great cook and you definitely won't be hungry during your trip. We took a taxi from Belize City to the house, which was a little expensive. On the way back we decided to take a bus (really easy to get on/off, and it took about 4 hrs but was about $5-10 dollars instead of $100-150 for the taxi. If you have the time - take the bus.

We passed a great time on Miriam's Farm in Belize! This hosting is just out of daily travelling, it's one of this highlights you are looking for when you are travelling. Embedded in the jungle of the Mountain Pine Ridge Nationalforest you can enjoy pure nature and a great hospitality. Miriam and her family made our stay unforgettable and - whenever we come back - we will not hesitate to come back to stay there again. The room was very spacious and clean, the bathroom was nicely decorated with enough towels and space. We took the daily tour on the nearby lake, including the visit of 3 different waterfalls - a perfect trip with some unforgettable surprises - perfectly guided by some family members of Miriam. Thank you all for this great experience in the jungle of Belize!
