Once the island Trading Post (in the 1820's) now serves as a private retreat on Westport Island. The whole property has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1982.

The building is nestled at the water's edge, half on land and half on stilts over the tidal waters of the Sheepscot River. The property has its own private deck, island, rocky beach, trails and hammock.

Gorgeous place, right on the water, with an incredible view and a nice sea breeze so it never gets too hot. The hosts were very responsive and gave us great tips on how to enjoy the area. Would definitely love to come back some time!

It was a truly wonderful place and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay (two adults, two kids under 1yo - the house is not baby proof as stated in the ad and reiterated by Leslie, but we took our chances and were happy with it, there are very few 'dangers' and kids could be easily cont…

What a lovely spot with lots of history behind it. Peace and quiet. If you like rustic this is for you with a few modern touches to make it more comfortable.

This is an exceptional space with beautiful views. We had a wonderful time here! We recommend taking the canoe out to see the seal colony at high tide. The hosts are great as well!
