Other things to note

Towns to visit
Reims: you just can't get here and don't try to discover the heart of the Champagne country, the history and secrets of "The King of Wines". You'll may want to visit world-renowned champagne house of Moet and Chandon and tour the historic city of Reims, the capital of the Champagne region. And see the Cathedral. A magnificent Gothic church acclaimed for its striking stained glass windows, where the kings of France were once crowned.
Troyes:Troyes has a lively centre that’s graced with one of France’s finest ensembles of half-timbered houses and Gothic churches. It’s one of the best places in France to get a sense of what Europe looked like back when Molière was penning his finest . Several unique and very worthwhile museums are another lure.Troyes does not have any Champagne cellars. However, you can shop in its scores of outlet stores stuffed with brand-name clothing and accessories, a legacy of the city’s long-time role as France’s knitwear capital.

The Farmhouse is very attractive with a large garden in a very quiet village. The countryside around is mostly farms with lovely old buildings and plenty to see in the area. Sabine was not there but gave us very adequate instructions including how to get help if we should have needed it.

Lovely country house in a quiet but friendly village. Great access to nature around Lac du Der, wonderful backyard and outdoor space if you want to relax. The house is very cozy and really well renovated, making for a comfortable and easy stay. Highly recommend the local beer/wine/delicacies at the farm shop just a few doors down, and other nearby local farmers can provide incredibly fresh/delicious milk and eggs. Sabine and Pat are consummate hosts, really responsive and helpful.

We had a pleasant stay in this charming farmhouse. A bottle of champagne awaited us upon arrival. It is a real pleasure to relax in the garden. Excellent location for those who seek a quiet area for hiking, biking and aquatics.

What a stunning and charming farm! When we arrived, we could not believe that we were staying in this antique and nicely furnished farm. Both inside as outside of the farm are very spacious. The house was very clean and the big garden well maintain. Even the farmer next door was mowing the garden. The Italian shower was one of the highlight in the farm. During our stay, we really enjoyed Sabine's welcome gift, champagne from the area. Something I definitely recommend is too visit one of the champagne houses in the area if you want to take something home. Even we haven't meet each other in person, we really enjoyed our last stop of our honeymoon in France.

We had a lovely stay in the charming farm of Sabine. The house awaited us nicely heated up and with a bottle of nice champagne on the kitchen table. This is a perfect house to stay with family or friends year round. In summer the large, sunny garden is perfect and when it is colder it is very comfortable to sit around the fireplace. The large kitchen table and good facilities in the kitchen are perfect for dinners. Also the bedrooms are pleasant, with good mattresses. Behind the house is a nice unpaved road along the fields and our kids liked to go there, visiting the cows and horses of neighbors. As other reviews state already, this place is good if you want quit and peace as it is a quite isolated area, you have to love that. We sometimes had a hard time finding a restaurant open for lunch (even though there are some around), and there is not many people or activities around. the closeby champagne castle offers a nice visit though. Better be prepared for cooking yourself.

We spent just 2 days in this house, but literary fell in love with it. The house is definitely for those who enjoy quiet village surrounding and will not fit to those who look for a city fest. It is situated nearby the natural park, so pheasants, storks, deer will be your neigbours. Although the weather this winter is outstandingly warm, heating was still needed and I was impressed by its effectiveness. The house is big enough even for a larger family than ours. The kitchen/dining room is fully equipped also with plenty of food (cereals, pasta, seasonings, cookies etc.) and has a big, big table. Books, photo's on the wall, soft light - all these made us feeling like being at home. You should be prepared though to go for shopping quiet far: nearest groccery shop in in Montier-en-Der (7 km) and a supermarket is almost 50 km away. I wish to spend the whole holidays in that quiet and gorgeous place.
