Welcome to Medicine Park! “Home on the Rock” is an inviting A-frame located on Big Rock Road, a windy back road full of beautiful private homes and quirky cabins. My family and I love our home and are honored to share it with you. Come relax on the deck and watch the birds and the deer, or on cold evenings sit in front of the fireplace—I promise, you’ll feel hours away from the noise of the city instead of minutes.

The space
You are renting the bottom floor of a private home, in the true spirit of Airbnb, but we will be off-site during your stay. There is a beautiful private bedroom with a large queen sized bed and walk-in closet. The bedroom television has Roku for streaming Netflix, Hulu, etc., and you are welcome to use my Sling TV account. The attached bathroom has an amazing corner tub to soak away a long day, which converts to a shower as well. The living room has a comfy sectional for seating or sleeping extra guests (we also have a queen sized air mattress), as well as a smart-tv and X-box for streaming or game-play. Enjoy the wood-burning fireplace from both the living room and the dining room, and curl up with a good book. There’s a bookshelf on the upstairs landing, feel free to take a paperback with you, but please leave the hard covered books behind for everyone to enjoy. If you have any good reads you’re finished with, there is plenty of room to add to the collection. There is a modern kitchen with all appliances, including a washer and dryer—feel free to cook! The deck is amazing, and equipped with plenty of seats to watch the hawks soar, and a grill to catch whatever trout you caught in Medicine Creek. If you’re coming to enjoy Lake Lawtonka, go ahead and bring the boat—the driveway is huge.

We’ll do what we can to make your stay with us hassle-free, and to give you a place to make great memories. You will have free Wi-Fi, fresh towels and linens, and enough coffee and breakfast treats to get you started on your first few days (but be sure and treat yourself to Mrs. Chadwick’s www.facebook.com/Mrs-Chadwicks-Bakery-118508471561890/ or Cobblescones www.facebook.com/Cobblescones/ at least once or twice while you’re here!). I’ll have a hairdryer for you to save you space when you pack, as well as bath soap and bubbles (what’s the point of a huge tub without bubbles?). If you forget your shampoo and conditioner, or your toothbrush and toothpaste, I will have extra on hand for just such an emergency. In the cooler months, the wood for your first fire is on us.

The area is serene, surrounded by nature, with hiking trails right from back-yard. It’s the perfect place to celebrate a special milestone, or to reconnect with family and friends.

Guest access
To ensure your privacy, we use a Lockbox system to provide you with the keys. When it is close to your stay with us, your lockbox combo will be sent to you. Come and go as you please—we will be off-site, but we are always available by phone for anything you need, or for any recommendations, etc. During work hours I try to answer all calls and texts within 30 minutes, and after work hours I will answer immediately.

Other things to note
Home on the Rock is located in Medicine Park, minutes from the restaurants and shops on E. Lake drive. Lake Lawtonka is literally just on the other side of the hill in the back yard, and the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge is two miles away driving through downtown Medicine Park. We are less than ten minutes from Apache Gate at Ft. Sill and I-44.

I believe it is better to buy experiences than it is to buy things. It also makes you more interesting. I am an avid Airbnb consumer (Peru, Aruba, Boston, Des Moines, and coming soon Nice, France) who is thrilled to be able to offer an amazing home to fellow adventurers, and in a truly magical area. The waters of Medicine Park are said to be medicinal...I promise, the air is too. It's just different here.
