Response from Suchita:
1) The studio room is large enough to serve as bedroom for 6 people, however, there is no toilet attached to it. Airbnb didn't have the option to mention the same. Now I have changed the text so to avoid any confusion. 2) Our sustainable Homestay does not promote alcohol and we do not serve the same. Hence, making a bar is "out of question". Sadly, our caretakers do not understand this. 3) Eco-Hamlet is set amidst the rural areas, and lots of greenery has been created by me. This amounts to animals, insects housing the property and since they are part of the food chain, we do not kill them but just deter them from coming inside the house. One method is to close all the doors and windows at sunset and not venture out after it gets dark. The house insects such as frogs, geckos and small insects are seen around. These are the hurdles that comes with staying in the thickness of the vegetation. 4) One common bathroom in the house and another adjacent to the veranda because most guests bask in open veranda and even eat there as they do not have that facility in the cities. One Indian style WC also exists for the workers and the drivers of the guests when they come along. Construction on the farm land is restricted and we have consumed our limits. So yet another toilet is not possible. I regret. 5) We have measured the portion for each person based on our experience with the majority of guests. People really eat well because they are relaxed, happy and eat in time. It would be a shame to let them go hungry. It is thus difficult to judge exactly how much less or more to cook for each group. Most of the time our caretakers have to cook again for themselves. In some cases, though, they get to eat from the menu served to the guests. Nothing goes to waste. 6) The infrastructure in cities are questionable, so the least can be said about the remote places and villages. The electricity cuts are unreal. Sometimes 3-4 days at a stretch. We have inverter backups, solar powered water heaters, but how much substitutes can we get and at what cost!!! We just have to adjust. All said and done, we are indeed very lucky to always have wonderful guests who respect the rules of the house. Their appreciation, love and generosity help us maintain the model of Sustainable living that we have created with such passion! We want all our guests to come again and again!!

A very nice and comfortable home where to stay and enjoy the Western Ghats and Indian rural areas. The food served was very good and the people working there helpful. It is best to own or rent a car/a bike though to be able to visit the area.
