Escape to the Country.....

The space

If you like sloping brick floors, comfy sofas, exposed beams, wood burners, light, space and original features then you will like the Dairy.
An annexe to a Tudor farmhouse it was converted in 2013 and is now a spacious 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom holiday home with a double height open plan living space on the ground floor.
Children and dogs are very welcome.

Egyptian cotton sheets, fresh towels and wifi provided (it's a pretty good connection - as much as you can guarantee these things - but do check with us first if you want to download films etc). There's a basket of logs for the fire and books and dvds; refreshments too so you can start to relax as soon as you arrive.

Everything you might need to know about the Dairy is in the welcome manual and have a look at the airbnb guide which gives tips about shopping and local sightseeing activities too.
If you prefer the human touch we are just next door and happy to help and to share what we know about the local area with you.

In the middle of rural Suffolk we are:
20 minutes away from Diss, which has direct trains to London (90mins).
15 minutes away from Framlingham. A pretty market town (market on Tuesday and Saturday) with a lovely castle
25 minutes away from the coast: pebble beaches, sandy beaches, nature reserves, bustling seaside towns of Southwold with its pier, cafes and beach huts and Aldeburgh (40 mins drive away) with fresh fish and summer festivals.
25 minutes from Thetford forest.
Bressingham steam museum, mid Suffolk light steam railway, the Owl and Camel sanctuary and Easton Farm Park are all in easy reach for family fun.

As for getting around there are buses but we are in the country so you can go anywhere but it'll be a week before the bus returns! If you bring bikes we have an outbuilding that you can store them in and there is a reliable taxi service. We have a local store, a butcher and baker in the village a library, gym, swimming pool and tennis courts too - all within 5 minutes walk of the dairy. The village has 3 pubs, with two of them serving food as well.
To make the most of your stay we recommend a car but if you are after a short getaway there is lots to do in a short walking distance of the Dairy and taxis at Diss railway station.

Can't recommend enough, it's a really great space, the wood burner was great for winter and the bedrooms are a really good size. The hosts are really friendly and welcoming. It's an easy walk into Stadbroke and we will defintely be back!

We had a wonderful weekend at The Dairy, mostly relaxing by the wood burner. Kate has very thoughtfully decorated it, and it has a beautiful character.

The dairy is a lovely and rustic, clean, with everything you need for your stay. Kate was very warm and welcoming. The surrounding area is rural and close enough for a day at the coast. We had a lovely break.

We loved our stay here. The dairy was unusual and very different to anywhere else I have stayed. Mind your head as the ceilings are low and the floor made from brick, so pack slippers. The log fire was lovely and warmed the place up but there is also very effective central heating. A welcome pack was left for us with a few essentials - a lovely touch. Great location to explore the surrounding villages and towns.

We had a great stay for a couple of nights in Kate's dairy! Very easy to find, suitably decorated and all the equipment you might need for a restful stay.

Lovely accommodation, very quaint and quirky. Excellent hosts with great communication. Location was fab with two pubs within walking distance. The Ivy House pub restaurant was especially friendly and great food. I thoroughly recommend staying in this lovely converted dairy.

We had a super stay at the old dairy with my 3 & 1 year old. We had everything we needed and the property was safe, clean and had everything we needed. We'd love to stay again!

I'm a recently relocated Londoner and live with Ab and our 2 children, dog, 2 cats and 3 hens. I worked in social housing for over 20 years but am now trying to live a slow life by growing some of our food, living in a green home and making time for conversation. I'm now a lego building country hermit! I'm also working part time at a museum and loving it though I'm no history buff.....
I love meeting people and spending time in our home in Marrakesh - you can't beat sunshine, Moorish architecture, outdoor living and Moroccan hospitality
