Welcome to The Sanctuary In The County in the heart of PEC!
This gorgeous space has been lovingly restored and modernized for your comfort and ultimate relaxation. We are moments from the heart of Wellington, the best wineries, North Beach & all of the other local hot spots.
Your living space is the entire 'sanctuary' - 1400 square feet of open space in the front of the church. I live in the attached Sunday School.
The space
This is a very special space, and we hope that you will love it as much as we do. Our church was built in the 1800s, and we have worked hard to maintain much of its charm. You will live in the 'Sanctuary'. Your bed is on the altar (king sized!), and we have a lovely pull-out murphy bed with a memory foam mattress for couples or families traveling together.
We invite couples and friends looking for a gorgeous and relaxing home base in The County. We have a lovely little yoga corner with mats, bolsters, blankets, and even an aromatherapy diffuser. The bathtub is a huge soaker built into a little nook under the choir. There is also a full (private) shower and toilet area. We have a kitchenette with a bar fridge, one cooking element, and a convection toaster oven (you can definitely cook a modest meal here!). We also supply you with a french press and a chemex (complete with filters, a scale, and a grinder) for all the coffee nerds out there!
We have wifi, but remember that we are in a rural area. We aren't able to upload or download large files, and you might need to take a break from netflix during your visit :)
Parking for two vehicles is available in front of the church.
* Please note that because the bed is located on the altar that there is a 2-foot drop off the side - folks with mobility limitations may not be comfortable in this space. We also ask that you use caution when walking on the altar.
Please also note that the space is entirely open concept. If you are traveling with friends please be prepared to get to know each other very well! The beds are in the same (very large) room. We are working to provide some privacy within the space, but this is still in progress.
This is in no way a 'party house'. No bachelorette groups, etc (we recommend The June for these groups!). I live with my son and two (very quiet) dogs in the attached Sunday School. You may occasionally hear us, but we have gone to great lengths to soundproof The Sanctuary.
We are minutes away from some of the best wineries in The County, and a short 5 minute drive to the heart of Wellington.

You have full access to the driveway pad directly in front of the Church. You have full and private use of the front porch (complete with patio set). Enjoy!
Please avoid accessing the Sunday School at the back of the church, and the backyard is private.
Other things to note
Your host, Tara, is a well-known photographer. If you have a special occasion happening in The County (i.e. a proposal!) please feel free to inquire about photography services!
