Everything was really excellent & we had a great time staying at The Two Muses house! I especially enjoyed having Shelly stop by to welcome us & give us local restaurant tips and show us on the maps on their wall how to get to the local grocery etc. Our beds were very comfortable & we loved the cleanliness, lots of outside light & using the dining room, kitchen, back patio & front porch. A lovely space & we loved the food at El Burrito Mercado only a few minutes walk! Having The Two Muses space to hang out in made a delightful @ relaxing place to visit with my fellow classmate and was a highlight of our 50th reunion experience . Communication was easy and Shelly emailed us a PDF with all the house guidelines and tips about using appliances and what to do on our departure. Simple, fun & very satisfying!

This house is amazing--and so is your host, Shelly! I was in town this past weekend for my good friend's wedding. My boyfriend and I and four other friends were hoping to find an affordable alternative near the wedding venue (St. Paul Hotel), and Shelly's house fit the bill. While I unfortunately didn't get to take as much advantage of the house as the other guests due to bridesmaid duties for the wedding--which kept me out of the house during normal waking hours--my friends really enjoyed exploring the house and sitting outside in the yard. The house is immaculate and has some interesting quirks (which I won't give away but will say is worth exploring). Seeing artwork by Shelly and Eileen in the house also gave it a very nice personal touch and I truly felt I was in someone's home. Most importantly, Shelly is completely straightforward, accommodating and easy to get in touch with, both before and during your stay. She gave some great recommendations for where to go running and a place to enjoy brunch. I really can't recommend this place highly enough. My only regrets are that I didn't get to meet and thank Shelly in person (due to aforementioned bridesmaid obligations). I would love to return to St. Paul in the near future for a more relaxed getaway, and if I do, I know where I'll be staying. Thank you so much, Shelly!

Booked this AirBnb for my family (6 people) for a long wedding weekend. They had a great stay in this lovely house. It's very clean, comfortable, in a quiet neighborhood, it has all the amenities you can ask for. What I appreciate the most is how responsive and helpful Shelly was the whole time. She always replied super quickly and made sure my family had everything they needed (for instance an iron board, a second set of keys, coffee, etc...). I would definitely recommend this place! Thank you Shelly.

Response from Shelly:
Alain's and his family were really well organized, great communicators, and left the house super clean—despite the stress of a wedding in the family! And yes, I'd highly recommend them to any future hosts.

We SOOOO enjoyed our time at Shelly's place (aka The Two Muses Guest House)! The home was relaxing, entertaining and a wonderful place to rest between adventures! The home is impeccably decorated with fun surprises. It was a joy to walk around the place and notice all the details. This home is clearly a labor of love. So many handmade, handpicked pieces of art and furniture. The home was stocked with items you may need... q-tips, detergent, shampoo, etc. We felt very comfortable! The front porch was my favorite spot. A great place to start the day! We were traveling with 3 kids (all 12 and up) and I agree with the owners that this home is not for small children. Small kids may get into some of the more delicate items. My kids enjoyed playing the keyboard, guitar and various percussion instruments in the music room. There are some small cafes, restaurants, parks and corner stores within a short walk (1/2 - 1 mile away). But everything we needed with a few miles. You just need to remember you are in a quiet residential area and things seem to quiet down early. There is a beautiful view of Downtown Saint Paul and the Cathedral just a 10 minute walk from the house. We shot some beautiful sunset pics from the cliff there. The owners live "kitty-corner" to the home. Having Shelly close by was helpful and she was quick to respond to any of our questions and was a wealth of knowledge about the area! We took advantage of the complimentary family photo session with Shelly - what a wonderful perk to our stay! The home truly was a joy... a beautiful retreat with adequate space, located close to downtown Saint Paul but in a quiet, interesting residential neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this place and would LOVE to stay there again ....any time!!!!

My partner Eileen and I have been thinking and building together for 25 years. This home exemplifies all of our desires of what we'd love to have in a house: Surrounded by wonderful neighbors in the richly diverse West Side of Saint Paul; Cozy interior furnishings and a spacious backyard; a fun and inviting front porch; and, to top it all off, the house is fully furnished with everything a traveler will desire—best of all a warm and cozy feeling of home.
