The space

The cottage sits in a large garden with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. There a wood burning stove in the lounge which keeps the place toasty in colder weather and a well stocked kitchen. There are 2 bedrooms. One with a double bed and one with 2 singles. There is also a good quality fold up bed. Comrie with its shops and restaurants is only 5 miles away.

Deals may be available on longer rentals. Please contact the hosts for more details.

John and I always try to meet our guests on arrival and take time to show them round the property so they know how everything works and where everything is. We then leave them in peace but are always contactable by phone if there are any problems or questions.

The glen is beautiful in all seasons...from the carpet of bluebells in the spring, to the colours in the autumn...the frost in the winter and the lushness of the summer. It feels (URL HIDDEN) though you are away from it all...but in reality, a ten minute drive takes you to Comrie and its fabulous deli and shops...
Because of its isolation the glen has fantastic wildlife...red deer come right down to the cottage and red kites circle over head.

The cottage is about 5 miles from the nearest bus link (Comrie which has bus links with Perth where there is a train station), so while it would be possible without, we recommend that to enjoy the area to its fullest you bring/hire a car.

Guest access

In the summer months we have a large tent which is available for for £50 per week if you have a larger family/friends who don't mind glamping in the beautiful garden!

We also have a beautiful white Morris Minor 1000 and a rare Morris Pick-up available to hire during your stay for short local trips round the area. Please ask for more details as at availability.

Please contact the hosts for further information.

Other things to note

We have a drum kit, table football and a gas BBQ . Although we do not get TV reception we have a big pile of DVDs and a digital radio along with a quality Hi-Fi system.
Mobile phone signal is patchy but most networks get signal in parts of the property.

A lovely spot away from the hustle and bustle. Cara and John are very generous with a well stocked fridge and cupboards. The house is quaint and surrounds beautiful.

John and Cara's place makes for an excellent hide away weekend. It's located perfectly in the hills with great views and excellent wildlife (we saw many many red kites and buzzards!). There are many walks nearby and the next town with shops is not far away either. It was just perfect for us five and we enjoyed every minute of it!

The most beautiful location with breath-taking walks right from the front door . John's advice was useful - we found two deep swimming spots in the river . The sitting room was cosy , but we found the kitchen a little cramped .

John and Cara ´ s cottage is very charming. The view and the place is very beautiful ! We saw lot of animals : lambs, rabbits, pheasants, squirrels for the children happyness ! In the cottage, there is a bath but no shower... it's the only "problem" Le cottage est charmant. Nous avons bien profité de cette semaine. Il faudrait juste rajouter un pommeau de douche à la baignoire et ça serait parfait !

We had a very pleasant stay at John and Cara's place. Their home is in a very picturesque location with beautiful views. There is no phone service or wifi which made for a peaceful few days but tricky when we lost our way. There is no shower which was a surprise but alas quite relaxing. Thanks so much for having us!

We really felt like home at John and Cara's cottage, and it was equipped with everything we needed. The localisation was exactly what we expected and we were able to visit a lot of Scotland's landmarks. We were also able to enjoy the awesome nature and beautiful sightseeings. John and Cara were really caring and surprised us with unexpected kind gestures. We recommend it!
