The Ploughman's Room in our Coach House is like staying in a boutique hotel, with superking size beds, rain showers, handmade bath products and crisp white linen. This listing is for one double bedroom, but guests have the whole rest of the house to themselves including full kitchen and cosy sitting room. Perfect for romantic getaways!

Guests can chill out in the gardens, or explore 20 acres of woods and gardens. Hotwell is also home to one of Ireland's only warm springs.

The space
Hotwell House is a Georgian farmhouse set in 20 acres of gardens, woodland and pasture in the historic Boyne Valley in Ireland's Ancient East.

The house has a unique history, earning its unusual name from a warm spring on the property known as St. Gorman's Well. Between November and May every year, the well fills with warm water and has been a place of pilgrimage and worship since pre-Christian times. It's also a fine spot for guests to have a winter swim!

The coach house was renovated in 2017 and divided into four large ensuite studios to allow up to 8 guests to enjoy the peaceful surroundings in total comfort. This listing is to take the house with one of the double bedrooms but to have the rest of the place to yourself.

Guest access
Each room has it's own private stable door onto the courtyard. The gardens feature a tennis court, croquet lawn and plenty of room to roam around the fields and woods.

We stock the fridge with enough supplies for your first morning. There's a fully equipped kitchen with a Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, plus a toaster, fridge and plenty of our own homemade elderflower cordial. There is a bottle of this delicious cordial in your room, with our own still and sparkling water. If you want to bring some elderflower cordial home with you, it’s available to buy in 500ml bottles.

Other things to note
There are friendly dogs on the property. We also have horses, ponies and other livestock. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement provided they are kept under control.
