About this listing

This light filled renovated apartment is ideally suited for a working professional or visitors who seek the neighborhood feel of Brooklyn. Located adjacent to the Navy Yard and Stiener Studios, enjoy the Fort Greene and Clinton Hill neighborhoods. The apartment is adjacent to a larger artist loft and shares common airspace, while it has a private entrance directly from the street, a separate kitchen and bath.

The space

While the guest apartment is a separate space it is part of a much larger (1,700sf) live/work artist studio space that is home for myself, my partner and son and for this reason it is a legal NYC airbnb guest space.

For the past-two years I have enjoyed using the front of my loft as a semi-attached space to host airbnb guests and we have just completed a major renovation of this space with a glass partition wall, new kitchen and bathroom.

We prefer long-term monthly rentals. While the unit is separated for privacy it shares air-space on the ground floor and is partitioned by a glass curtain wall and curtains. Let us know your needs and we will keep the sounds to a minimum from our side of the loft. Your sitting area is a place to gather and enjoy the perks of the block including Mast Brothers chocolates, the Brooklyn Coffee Rosters and fresh backed bread and sweets from Fresh Fanatic our organic grocery store. The unit has a modern fridge, convection oven, hotplate and coffee machine, a kitchen table and two chairs and a small selection of cookware, utensils, and eating/drinking-ware. The private bathroom consists of a tiled shower, basin, and toilet. Wireless internet and cable television also available as needed. As a requirement of the building management, I will ask that guests sign a liability waiver upon sign in.

Guest will benefit from their own private entrance through ground level glass doors, that enter straight into apartment. Long stay guest will also benefit from cleaning and laundry services.

I have lived in the property for over 15 years and have seen the neighborhood transformed into what it is now -- a thriving creative fun destination. I live and work as a full time artist in the loft behind the apartment with my son and dog. Feel free to ask me anything about the city. I'll be happy to share with you my favorite dives, restaurants, and knowledge of the art community.

On the block we have an organic supermarket (Fresh Fanatic), a reliable restaurant (El Porto), a coffee shop (Brooklyn Coffee Rosters), a specialty wine store, Mast Brothers Chocolates, and the Body by Brooklyn Body Spa. We are half a block from the Brooklyn Navy Yard, home to Steiner Studios and a host of small creative industries. There is also overnight street parking.
Fort Greene is considered one of Brooklyn's prime neighborhoods. The apartment is walking distance to the beautiful Fort Greene Park, the Brooklyn Flea market and tons of restaurants, bars, and shopping. It is also a short walk to Pratt Institute, Atlantic Center Mall, Barclay Center, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), where you can catch film, theater, dance, music, and more. Adjacent to the Brooklyn Bridge, it is just a few short subway stops to Manhattan, and is close to other favorite 'hoods, including Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, and Brooklyn Heights.

Traveling by car, no problem we have street parking and parking under the BQE.
Public Transportation: a short walk to the G, and C stops on Washington Ave (8-10min). Or try taking the bus to the express subway stations. We are located on Washington Ave, between Park and Flushing; Bus #61 stops on Park Ave., Bus #57 stops on Flushing Ave., every 8-10 minutes. Travel time to Brooklyn's Downtown Jay Street train station or Broadway (the Williamsburg L-Train) is 8-10 minuets, both fast ways to commute into the city.
City Bikes are conveniently located on the corner of our block and we are within biking distance to Dumbo, Clinton Hill, and Williamsburg. We are also a 10-minute cab ride into Lower Manhattan via the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges (1.3 miles from our door) -- and for those with a little extra time we are a 22 min walk through Fort Green to the Atlantic Center Terminal (B,D, N, R, Q, 2, 3, 4, 5 Long Island Railroad)

Pets are welcome providing if they get along with kids and other animals.
House trained and quiet.

Thank you so much to Brad and Natasha for having us to stay, you made us feel very welcome straight away, even inviting us for dinner with their friends on several occasions. Which is nice, as me and my partner were travelling so it meant we got to meet a few more people. We were meant to stay with Brad and Natasha for 1 month, but actually ended up extending it for a second month. The place itself in a good part of Brooklyn with plenty of stuff nearby on Myrtle Avenue. It's between downtown Brooklyn, Prospect, and Williamsburg (which we loved!). The nearest station to get into Manhattan is York Street which is 20 minutes away so keep that in mind. Halfway through our trip we started using Lyft Line to get around as it can cost as little as $5 to get to/from Manhattan. They're like Uber but less evil. The room has plenty of space and a nice little kitchen area. It was nice having a bed with drapes as it made that feel like a separate space. There are double height ceilings which is great, but the partition doesn't go all the way up so you're not entirely insulated from the communal space, but the place is a little bohemian like that! You get your own bathroom and your own entrance so you can slip in and out without any trouble. Once again thank you so much for having us stay with you, you're both great :)

Bradley's loft is the right place to stay at good price closed to manhattan. Just 4 minutes to brooklyn Myrtle avenue and 15 minutes walking to tube station. I was there for 9 nights with my wife and daughter, Bradley is a kind and helpfull person, he supported when we needed help. Thanks Bradley!

Bradley's place was well located, on the same block as a great grocery/deli, Citibike station, and Brooklyn Roasting Company. The neighborhood felt safe (including at night). Would highly recommend to anyone!

Brad's place was great! No surprises and exactly as described. He was very welcoming and accommodating to some of my mid week changes. Was a very good experience and an ideal airbnb host. Would def think of coming back!

Bradley was welcoming and a marvelous host. He asked whether I would like to see his studio (YES!) and gave me a tour, including sharing works in progress for a showing in the Hague. Definitely a highlight. Then we learned that he knows my nephew, who lives in the same neighborhood. Bradley's wonderful rescue dog turns out to be a friend of my nephew's dog, so an extra treat this visit was getting to enjoy watching the two dogs playing together. I loved the location with parks nearby, the sculpture garden and, of course, the local coffee house where locals go daily. If you stay for a while you will begin to recognize the same dogs tied up outside while their owners sit inside. One afternoon I walked to the Brooklyn museum and regretted that I only planned for an afternoon, you could spend several days there before feeling you had given it fair due. I highly recommend checking out Bradley's loft if you are looking for a "locals" stay in Brooklyn.

We loved Bradley's place and were sorry to have to leave it. It was clean, and exactly as it was described. Brooklyn is a beautiful and increasingly expensive city so this was an affordable way to be a tourist

I am a mid-career professional artist and I work from my home studio. One year ago I purchased this loft, after having lived in the building for more than 15-years. I share it with my ten-year old son and our dog. We love the neighborhood and I’m a great resource when it comes to local attractions, kid friendly activities, and the New York art scene.
