The farmhouse was totally renovated in 2009 in bioarchitecture style (bricks, lime putty, wood, terracotta, and cork). Heating from biomass systems and solar energy.
Interaction with guests
The farmhouse extends over 54 hectares along the hills between the Val d'Orcia and the Val di Chiana and uses certified organic farming methods. The olive and fruit trees (970 olive trees and 280 fruit trees) surround the villa and are located on a vast plain surrounded by fields, forests, and broom-covered furrows. Spacious outdoor areas where guests may enjoy direct contact with nature or take part in seasonal farming activities. The pool (June–mid-October) is perfectly part of the landscape, thanks to a careful use of materials and the shape of the pool that calls to mind old stone troughs. In addition to the pool (12 m long), there is another pool suited to relax, with low water, chairs, and small waterfall. Lounge chairs and umbrellas also offered. On a plain, under the shade of old maple trees, there is a large table and barbecue for meals outdoors, where to cook meat and seasonal vegetables.
