This house is a recently fully renovated miner's cottage in the beautiful village of Corris. It has two large bedrooms ( double bed and a bunk), a living/dining room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The house is ideally placed for all the village amenities, being about 100 yards from both the award winning local pub and marvellous cafe and shop. Corris is in an outstanding area for natural beauty, perfect for walks and cycling and is only about 20 minutes from the charming seaside resort of Aberdovey.

The space
PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID restrictions, the house is only available to those from the same household. Also, not all the facilities in the village (pub, shop) may be fully open or operating normally, depending on the time of booking. There has also never been a service charge on this property (unlike many others), but I have had to put one in, as the cleaner has insisted on a considerable increase.

This house has one living room downstairs, with a smart TV (which also plays DVDs), and two double sofas, one of which is a sofa bed. This room also doubles as a dining room, and the table can be pulled out to seat four. The bathroom, with bath, shower and toilet is also downstairs. The kitchen, in an extension at the back, contains hob, oven/grill and microwave, a sink and dishwasher. There is a good supply of usual kitchen utensils in variety of drawers. Up the narrow stairs are two good sized bedrooms; one with a double bed and one with two single bunks.
Please note: you will need to sign in to the TV using your accounts to access things like Netflix and Amazon Prime. As there is no TV licence at the property, you cannot use the TV to access live TV or iPlayer.

This house is a still a bit of a "work in progress" so depending when you stay you may find things (like the bathroom ceiling or loft hatch is not painted), but I am getting round to them gradually. None of these will impact on your stay.

There is Wifi, and the password is on the router in the main downstairs room.

Due to a previous issue, I am unlikely to accept requests from people who have no previous reviews. I’m really sorry about this but it is important that I do this to look after my property and contents the best I can. Also, I’m sorry to insist on at least one verified ID.

Where you’ll be

Corris, Wales, United Kingdom

Corris is one of the most beautiful and friendly villages in Wales. Containing a superb coffee shop, great for chatting to locals who will make you feel very welcome, and a traditional Celtic pub (Wales pub of the year a couple of years ago), serving great food and beer. There is also the Corris Institute which holds events and also has a part time post office and another coffee shop (although this may have stopped trading). The Corris railway is something for small gauge enthusiasts and runs at intervals throughout the year. Up the hill there is the Corris Craft Centre, containing craft shops, tours of the mines and the famous King Arthur's Labyrinth tour. The village is perfectly placed to access some of the most outstanding walks and views in all of Wales, as well as within easy reach of the towns of Machynlleth (the ancient capital of Wales) and Dolgellau. Seaside resorts of Aberdovey, Barmouth and Aberystwyth are within easy reach.
There are changes to accessibility and opening of the pub and shop due to the COVID issue. I don’t have up to date details and they change regularly, so I would advise you contact these places directly.

During your stay

The keys are stored in a keysafe on the property and the code will be sent the day prior to arrival. Arrival time can be any time after the given arrival time. As I live about an hour away, I won't be on hand to solve any problems immediately, but you can contact me any time by phone and I will come to the house if need be.
I'd be very grateful if you could let me know about approximate times of arrival so I can sort things out, as I will make sure that the timing for the cleaning is done with agreement of the COVID rules.
If you are planning to book and have no previous reviews, could you please have a government verified ID. Thanks.
