Live in history, live in nature, live in beauty in this 165 year old granite stone mill cottage nestled on the banks of the Neuse River with 1 master and 1 guest suite. A great escape for those wanting to experience a real get away and still be in the heart of the Triangle. Only MONTHLY rentals are allowed here but offer $67% discount.

The space

This is a cozy, elegant stone cottage on the banks of the Neuse River in the midst of the most wonderful parklands adjacent to the Falls Lake Dam. Accessible to all the major universities, and RTP...Just minutes from I-540...or take 98 to Durham for delightful adventures.

It is a two bedroom, 2 1/2 bath cottage with 13 ft, soaring ceilings with original wooden beams and granite walls inside and out, 26 inches thick....I renovated it several times and most recently redid the wall between the living room and master bedroom to expose the granite walls going the length of the unit...hence there is an opening between the two rooms but no door.....very European style..

Fully furnished with large flat screen TV's and fireplace for wintry nights..Kitchen is loaded with everything a gourmet cook could want.Viking Gas Range, Stainless steel countertops, breakfast bar,Vitamix, Juicer. Luxury beddings..high speed internet. Patio with deluxe Sterling Gas Grill...Kayaks available for use..

Guest access

Guests have access to the whole house. It is yours while I am away! Help yourself to the kitchen and any staples I have left in the cupboards...Just replace if you use the last of it..

Interaction with guests

I move to Mexico in the winter and that is why I am renting this for 4-6 month rental. I am not here to interact with the guests but I do have a friendly neighbor next door who is very helpful usually available..!

Other things to note

We are on city water now but we still have our own sanitation system therefore I ask that you be easy on the disposal and put most of the waste in the garbage.

I have few reviews in Airbnb because I often rent it word of mouth. If you want a referral I can supply many. Heres one: Could not have asked for a better experience. The listing looked so wonderful I was prepared for disappointment on arrival. The place and area were even lovelier than promised. We have been gone a few days now and miss it so much!

If you like to cook, this is the place for you to stay. Robbin has a very comfortable house in a beautiful, quiet area. It is very close to the river and the green way. I was looking for a place with a good kitchen since I was planning to cook for the family but I could not have thought up a better set-up if I had tried. We had a great time. I would recommend to anyone to stay here. Robbin was very accommodating and communicative throughout the process. Do not that the master bedroom and bathroom are semi-open to the main room. We did not have any problems with this setup, but it should be noted. If I have a reason to stay in the area again with the family, I would definitely come back.

And you are welcome back! Yes, the layout is a bit eclectic but that was to allow in my renovations the visual of the soaring granite walls from one room to the next...thanks for the great review! Glad you enjoyed the kitchen...I love to cook as well!

This place was so calming to the soul. The look and feel of the cottage was beautiful and never got old even after two months. Robbin was wonderful to rent from. I love her passion about art and life.

Robbins house was really amazing. Rock walls, high ceilings and very very cozy place. Definitely would recommend. One thing, there is not so good cellular coverage for AT&T, but Robvin has a landline that works great.

We were in awe when stepping into Tuscany in the Triangle. Robbin had made it very inviting for us. Windows were open, fans were going and lights were on welcoming us to settle in. There were very clear instructions sent to us before our arrival and more notes when we arrived. Robbin even called me before hand to make sure I didn't have any questions. Breakfast items were left for us and we utilized the beautiful kitchen during our stay as well as the grill on the terrace. We all took a bike ride on the greenway which was right across the bridge. Everything about our stay here was perfect. This home was magnificent, with so much history. We will be coming back to enjoy this beautiful home again in the peaceful and tranquil setting.

This was a charming and beautiful place to stay. We were in town for a family wedding and opted to stay here instead of a hotel in downtown Raleigh. It was extremely comfortable for four of us and all had everything we could possibly need during our stay. We cooked up a storm in the very well equipped kitchen, we sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed the quiet summer night. We listening to the stereo playing music as we sipped wine before dinner. And we all slept wonderfully in the comfortable bedrooms equipped with plenty of linens. In addition, the bathrooms were clean and roomy. Although we were not able to meet with Robbin, she left clear instructions on everything we needed to know for our stay. And she was also just a phone call away. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. Thanks Again Robbin!

The neighborhood, listing and host were all wonderful! What a beautiful space. The kitchen was so well equipped. The bathroom was nice with the special shower and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We had the ultimate relaxing time both in the space and down by the water. The andirondack chairs and hammocks were situated to take in the amazing view. The neighborhood could not be nicer with friendly people and a great guy named Tom who takes care of the place. He was very helpful as was Robbin who really made you feel welcome.
