This country cottage is tucked away in a beautiful setting to help you relax. It has a view of a half-acre pond for those who enjoy nature at its best.
If you are traveling for work, you have access to a workspace at the cabin where your only distraction might be the waterfowl coming and going from the water.
As you can see from the photos, Tim and I really like wood. Inside the cabin, you will enjoy different wood creations by Tim. He enjoys making unique furniture.

The space
Curry Run Cabin is only 6 miles from downtown Indiana and the campus of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
This cabin offers family-friendly activities, a welcoming half-acre pond to enjoy with kayaks, paddles, and life jackets for your use. Summertime is awesome for sitting on the porch and enjoying the view. You can make a bonfire for cooking or sitting around.

A recent visitor left this description of his experience:

"The sun shines on the pond illuminating the water.
The trees sway in the wind.
The mud and rocks feel good under your feet.
The breeze ruffles your hair.
You smile.
Your eyes glow with content.
The water ripples as frogs jump the lilies.
You listen to the joyful buzz of the bugs.
You love it here.

Other things to note
No pets please.
There are only two other buildings on the lane leading to the cabin. One is a woodshop where Tim creates great things, and the other is another rental with friendly and quiet tenants. Kayaks sit beside the pond year-round and are used often!
While the main highway provides easy access to local sites, you will hear highway traffic.

The whirlpool tub is currently working but occasionally the the jets decide to quit working.

Our Curry Run Cabin is a place where guests may prefer to remain in the serene setting which is situated on 50 private wooded acres, or for some great food and music (when we aren't in a pandemic) you can go to Indiana's first microbrewery, Levity Brewing. (Check out Levity's website for scheduled events and see what's brewing.)
If you go, look up Luke who is our son and one of the owners!
There is easy access to shopping, great restaurants and churches. Please ask and we will do our best to match your interests with what's happening in the community.
Just within minutes you can find places for recreation including Yellow Creek State Park and Blue Spruce County Park which are great for fishing, hiking and boating.
Unique to Indiana is that it is the hometown of Jimmy Stewart with the Jimmy Stewart Museum beside the Courthouse on Philadelphia Street.
(Our airport is also named after Jimmy.)
You can park on Philadelphia Street which is the main street in downtown Indiana where you can enjoy an interesting walk as you browse.
For outdoor/history enthusiasts, check out the Hoodlebug or Ghost Town Trails. Another option located on the edge of town is White's Woods with free parking and some of the most beautiful sights in Pennsylvania.

Tim and I began hosting “Curry Run Cabin" in 2017. We love time with our 12 grandchildren and consider it a huge blessing to have such a wonderful family. Ben and Jan are the new owners of the cabin so you might hear from them as well. The Cabin has been described by guests as “cozy, peaceful and refreshing”. Check out the photos for parking, sleeping arrangements, kitchen setup, and other rooms inside. Relaxing on the front porch is a favorite place where the pond is your view. Guests have reported seeing great blue heron, snapping turtles, box turtles, kingfishers, geese and ducks. A favorite winter activity is relaxing by the fireplace in the living room. It provides warmth and ambience during those chilly winter months. For meals, many like to prepare meals in the kitchen, but delivery from Fox’s pizza is always an option. Recommendations for restaurants are numerous. Just ask and we can let you know what would suit you the best. Check out the guidebook on this site for activities and places of interest.
