I'm glad she felt the communication and response times are good. She stated that the house cannot sleep 15. In a 5 star review for one of the listings for this house, the band that stayed wrote that 8 people slept comfortably and I as the host had 1 of the bedrooms to myself that night. I've had larger groups than that as well. The night that she said I triple booked the house she means that I had 3 bedrooms reserved with one person in them each.
When the 3rd guest arrived he said that he told her through the door that he reserved through Airbnb, but that she wouldn't let him in. He is a regular guest, normally a very friendly guy. He was the 1st person to contact me regarding the matter and explained that she wouldn't let him in, but it seemed like everything would be fine so I explained to him again where the key was and texted and called Vivien (no response, but she was aware previously that other guests would book throughout her stay since she didn't pay the price to have no one else book). This is the 1st time I heard it mentioned that the guest tried forcibly entering the house, but at any rate he left and I agreed to compensate him for his troubles.
Additionally, she was the only one there for probably most of the time so unless she pays for room service (which could have been arranged) or stayed for only 1 night, she should expect to empty the trash and change the kitty litter if she wants it done more than it is done by others. The housekeepers were told which food was hers and were told they could eat or throw away the food that doesn't belong to her when cleaning out the fridge, upon Vivien's request to have it cleaned. In my opinion and discussing with housekeepers they probably mixed up what was hers and my food somehow or put it back in a spot where Vivien didn't see her food. At any rate, I haven't hired the same housekeepers since they got done with the house weeks ago.
She extended her stay after the incident where she called 911 when another guest arrived. I bent over backwards trying to make her happy but in the end I don't feel like it was worth the time and money I spent for the price she paid, but I have plenty of guests who are extremely satisfied and have only compliments so it balances out and I have enjoyed my experiences with Airbnb overall. It is a great company it seems- really helping people out.
I did make some changes based on what she recommended etc however, and in addition to cleaning and freshening the house more frequently and installing a smart lock, I upgraded the bedrooms so there is currently a nightstand or something to set things on in each room, a dresser, tv with roku with apps including paid for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, think Vidangel, and free apps, and if not already then upon request- additional channels, dvds/player, vcr/movie tapes, bluetooth speaker, and the things that were already stated on the listing. This is the 1st time I've responded to concerns in a review, but I felt it was important to clarify with Vivien and future guests and to let them know how my place has been improved. To future guests- I hope you enjoy my place and send me a message or call me if you have any questions, concerns,or complements.
