I have mixed feelings about this place and the host.
Friday I get a call from Victor that he thought I was checking in Saturday instead of Friday and asked if I were okay with a late check-in since he needed time to clean the unit. I had no problem with it and decided to grab dinner while I waited for him to clean the unit. No big deal if the unit is going to be clean!!
Once I arrived, he was cool. He showed me everything I needed, and the spot seems cool upon first glance. However, upon further inspection, I noticed the space is not as clean as it appears. The carpet is severely overdue for a vacuuming. There was food (chips and other crumbs) on the living room floor. Also, there was dust and other particles all around the bed and on the bedroom floor. This is highly visible and should be cleaned. I always wore socks not knowing how many folks have contributed to the dirt. I've had a foot fungus before from walking on nasty floors, so I am very cautious of doing so. The bathroom was clean, or appeared to be, but the carpet/floors not so much.
Initially, I was okay with the late arrival. However, the last night of my stay, Victor called me to see if I could check out as soon as possible so that he could clean it for the next person. I already checked in late (6 hours after the 3 PM check-in; he told me he needed at least until 8 or 9 to clean the unit), and now he wanted me to check out "as early as possible." I told him that the listing indicates check out is 12 Noon, so I will check out by then. He seemed to want to rush my check out, and he was already late for my check in.
This is a good location, and the building is nice, but the unit is actually not as clean as it appears in the listing. Perhaps it was bad timing for Victor, but it seems this place is not really cleaned from tenant to tenant. I'm not sure he can handle the turnover schedule if his unit is as popular as it seems.
