Location

Dublin 7, County Dublin, Ireland

The house is located in Stoneybatter. The neighbourhood has plenty of of old school Dublin character but has been known as an "up-and-coming" part of the city for quite some time now. It is precisely this mixture which makes Stoneybatter appealing to locals and tourists alike.

Apart from the striking red brick artisan dwellings, the area is also known for the prominent Viking street names. For example, there is Viking Road, Olaf Road, Thor Place, Norseman Place, Ard Ri Road, Ostman Place & Sigurd Road. At the time of the Norman invasion, the Vikings, Ostmen or Austmenn (men of the East) as they called themselves, were exiled to the north of the Liffey where they founded the hamlet of Ostmenstown it what is now Stoneybatter.

Stoneybatter has a great choice of places to eat and drink. Brunch and dinner spots include Slice and Wuff. Older pubs such as the much-loved Cobblestone on Smithfield Square, where traditional musicians gather for regular sessions, and Walsh’s, which hosts an informal folk music night on Mondays, compete with pricier, IPA-savvy gastropubs such as Mulligan’s. Mulligan's is regularly featured in articles about 'new' Irish food.

A 10-minute walk away in Smithfield and facing each other are the fun New York inspired Dice Bar with more diveish Frank Ryan’s.

Also in Smithfield there's several other food options and the nicest cinema in Dublin, The Lighhouse which shows a great mix of new releases, old favourites and art house movies.

Born and bred in Dublin I will be happy to help you with recommendations, etc. I usually rent my house when I go away travelling which is my biggest passion.
During your stay
This is our home. We rent it in general when we go away so likely there won't be interaction in person but we will leave arrangements in place for check in, a house manual, several emergency numbers and we will also be available to answer to answer messages or emails.
