Beautifully furnished, modern apartment in the mountains with spacious private deck overlooking quiet woods. Less than 2 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway, 3.5 miles to Merrimon Avenue and Fresh Market/Ingles; 6 miles to the heart of downtown. Easy access to all the area's best restaurants, breweries, hikes and attractions. Studio-style, 325 sq. ft apartment with kitchen, bathroom and washer/dryer.

The space
This is a dedicated guest space with separate stone stairway entrance (guest parking is at the bottom of the stairway), keypad-access entrance, large private deck and separate climate-control. You control the temperature in your space.

The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee-maker, 2-burner stovetop and all basic kitchen supplies. The dishes are vintage brown hull pottery and clear glassware-- beautiful to use and enjoy on the deck for any meal. There is also a kitchen table for a workspace or dining indoors.

There is a washer/dryer for your sole use in the bathroom, which also features a walk-in shower with marble walls. There is a hairdryer, iron, small ironing board and folding clothes-drying rack for your use in the apartment.

The bed is Queen-size and there are extra blankets for your use. There is a flat-screen TV with wifi which you may use with your own Netflix log-in if you have an account. I also have Spectrum TV which has about 25 live channels and some on-demand movies and shows. The wireless router is located immediately above the apartment for the strongest possible signal.

The apartment is located on the bottom floor of our home and is a "daylight basement" with windows on the front and side wall. Draw the curtains for total privacy or to sleep in, or open them for views of the woods.

The road in front of the house is very quiet-- take a right and it's less than 2 miles up a gravel road to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, which offers some of the best hiking near town. Simply walking up the road directly from the house is a very nice hike and very popular with our neighbors. Take a left at the end of the driveway and the road immediately turns to pavement and it's 3.5 miles to the Ingles Supermarket, Fresh Market, MOD Pizza and Penny Cup coffee shop on Merrimon Avenue. It's only 6 miles to downtown for all the art, shopping, breweries and fun that Downtown Asheville has to offer.

This location is especially great for cyclists, with excellent access to great road and gravel riding. I can provide tracks for good local rides for your Garmin if you are interested. A bike storage stand and bike lock as well as a bike wash and workstand are available upon request.

Where you’ll be

Asheville, North Carolina, United States

Our neighborhood consists of a tight-knit community of homes along a quiet road that leads directly to the Blue Ridge Parkway at Craven Gap, one of the most popular trailheads in the area. At Craven Gap you can also jump on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail and hike as far as you wish in either direction, past viewpoints and through tunnels of rhododendron.

A professional in the adventure travel industry for over 16 years, making my home in the mountains of western North Carolina-- one of my favorite places in the world! I truly enjoy hosting visitors to the area who want a place to relax and enjoy quiet, wooded surroundings, while also having easy access to downtown Asheville. I love to ride bikes, hike, whitewater kayak, practice yoga and sample the wares at our many local breweries. I'm always happy to provide suggestions for local activities if my guests are interested, and I have plenty of nice area maps in the space for guest use. I hope to host you soon!
