The space

Hi, my name is Matteo and I'm 46 years old.
I'm Italian but I live in Dominican Republic since 1999. I live alone so I can rent a room in the Colonial area in the city center of Santo Domingo. I will be here when you arrive so I can help you and give you advice about the city.

A nice place to visit colonial district of Santo Domingo. The room is spacious and you have your own bathroom. Rosa and Matteo were helpful and nice. A good option to discover the city center :)

The Hacienda Terra Tiena is even more wonderful than the pictures could show. All is niew. Rooms are really luxurious. All the house is very pleasant, with a pool long enough for swimming. There are only 4 rooms, so it's very quiet. The service is perfect and Math is very frienly. In summary, a luxury place for the price of a middle class flat.

Super convenient location. You can walk everywhere and it's safe even late at night. Spent an amazing time with Rosa and her son Louise. Rosa made me a delicious and healthy breakfast with freshly brewed tea, papaya, pineapple, and avocado. She is so fun to be around! Matteo is also very nice. We all had lunch together. Rosa and I went out for dinner. I feel I have friends in santo Domingo now! Being a solo traveler I felt at home in their house, which is private, quiet, clean, and spacious. I highly recommend it!

Clean, comfortable apartment within walking distance of all the sites. We stayed a week as we were attending the Hispaniola Language school 7 minutes (walking away). Rosie was there to greet us upon or arrival which was way later than expected due to flight re-routing. Matteo and Rosie were wonderful hosts, preparing a few meals for us. The apartment itself is nice and clean. Our room was not cramped, giving us enough room to easily move about. The room also had a shared balcony. Previous reviews noted the air conditioning was a bit hit or miss. Fortunately for us there weather was mild during our stay with lovely evening breezes that swept through the apartment, so we did not rely on the A/C. One thing to note was there was no real place to unpack your clothes. Not an issue for us as we easily live out of our suitcases. That said, there is an armoire for hanging clothes but no real shelf space. We certainly would return.

I found this to be very charming accommodations that met with all the necessities (except the air conditioning that needs a little "tunning"). It is located in a safe area within walking distance to a main strip restaurants and shops and the waterfront (El malecon). We were greeted by Matteo's girlfriend who has been super gracious and welcomed us each of the two morning with aan awesome breakfast and even made a fantastic dinner one evening when Matteo stopped by. I especially want to thank Rosie for for making our stay welcoming.

We really enjoyed staying at Mateo's place! It was right in the heart of the historical part of Santo Domingo. If you are a tourist and its your first time in SD you definitely want to be somewhere around that location. Mateo communicated really well and was very helpful with any questions or requests. The apartment itself was very cozy and chill. Rosa, a friend of Mateo was there and she was super nice and she even prepared a breakfast for us before we even woke up!! So nice of them, such a genuine group of people!

I like art, music, sailing, kitesurfing and traveling all around the islands in the Caribbean sea.
I'm very open minded, I love to share my place with people from all around the world and last but not least I love to cook, in fact i my house you'll never miss a good dinner prepared by me.
