Jo and Gil's place was great for my stay in Melbourne. Beautifully appointed, super well located for my requirements, and a very pleasant part of town for a morning run to St Kilda or Albert Park. Jo and Gil were very welcoming hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was very comfortable, light and airy and spotlessly clean. The use of the guest tv room and kitchenette was fantastic. Jo's organic muesli was a lovely touch as was the fruit bowl and terrific tea and coffee selection. Highly recommended.

I always love visiting Melbourne and this time was no exception . Jo & Gil provide a comfortable warm & friendly accommodation close to amenities around Sth Melbourne . My daily destination was mainly the Arts Precinct which was easily accessible by the local No 1 tram or by taxi. Highly recommend .

Jo and Gil are great hosts. They are friendly people and made us feel welcome during our stay. Their lovely home is quiet and peaceful even though it is so close to the city. There is good access to public transport and Albert Park, the South Melbourne Market and Clarendon Street are an easy walking distance. The accommodation is very comfortable with beautiful quality linen and furnishings. The separate sitting room with a breakfast bar is a real bonus with all that you need for a light breakfast provided. The private bathroom was compact and very clean. It was altogether a lovely relaxing stay. Thank you Jo and Gil for an enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.

Jo and Gil were great hosts. Jo came to the tram to find me and walk back to the house. Everything was ready for me and I really loved their beautiful home. This is a quiet street but very near transport routes and South Melbourne market - a lively area with good shops and cafes. The rooms were very comfortable and furnished in a traditional style, while the bathroom is very modern. I appreciated the sitting room with a selection of teas and coffee and breakfast items. I thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would definitely come back and stay here again.

Emerald Cottage is owned by Jo & Gil Tucker who have lived in South Melbourne area for the last 10 years and love being so close to the city.
Jo is a Casting Consultant and Gil has been an actor working in Stage, Film & TV. With their love of people they decided to open up their home to like minded travellers who are looking for a different experience rather than staying in a Hotel. They love to travel, cycle, walk, theatre, movies and generally love socialising with people. Emerald Cottage is Heritage listed, built in 1876 is one of the first houses built in this area. It is tucked away in a very quiet street of South Melbourne. You would never know you were so close to Melbourne CBD!!!
