Brian's place was great! La Pedrera is an amazing town with awesome nightlife, scenery, and beaches. It is definitely one of the hipper beach towns I've seen in Uruguay. The place was very clean and perfect for the four of us. Little touches like an Asado were nice (although we didn't use it) and a security system made us feel safe. Brian was quick with communication and Jorge made sure we understood everything we had to know about the place. I would definitely recommend Brian's place!

Jorge was a great host. He was prompt and very courteous. We loved the location away from the town. Jorge helped us out in a crucial moment when our car keys would not function. The house had everything we needed. There is no cleaning fee so you will need to clean it yourself or pay to have it cleaned.

The location is perfect for a quite beach holiday. The house provides everything that you need. Its spacious and in a good shape. Brian reacts promptly on every message you send to him. Since Brian was not at the house he gave us the number of a friend. The friend waited for us at the information office and guided us to the house. He speaks spanish and english. That helped us a lot. We really enjoyed the stay and would book the house again.

Would not recommend. Potential to be a good destination but horrible stench in house that did not go away our entire stay (rotting animal?) Advised host to no avail. Do not arrive at night ($250.00 US cab fare from Punte Del Este to home ) and bring toilet paper and wood for the fireplace.. La padrera is a wonderful little town but I would highly recommend staying at a different house in the vicinity.

Response from Brian:
This guest was totally unreasonable. Asked me how to get to La Pedrera from Buenos Aires so I sent her detailed instructions. She ignored my advice and flew to Punta Del Este arriving at 9:30 pm telling me I should have a car waiting to pick her up at the airport to take her to La Pedrera 1.5 hours away. My building manager scrambled to arrange a car (I suggested she stay in Punta one night and I would not charge her for the first night she booked as a driver and car would cost $185)but needed to hear back from her to confirm. She never called or emailed the building manager or me to arrange her car. I have a professional housekeeper clean the house before each guests arrival, toilet paper is provided, firewood is not provided but is available on request, the house is brand new(Dec/13) and the guests who stayed at the house before and after this guest left the positive reviews above. Rest assured this is a clean and well maintained house. This guest did send me an email making it clear that if I gave them a refund I would not receive a bad review. I declined as the only complaint that is valid is we did not pick them up at the airport, 1.5 hours away, which is a service we have never offered, nor stated anywhere.

The house was great. We were surprised at how well equipped it was - it is rare for a Rocha summer house to have so many amenities. The fact that it has two bathrooms is also very helpful. Spacious, comfortable, walking distance from the beach... you can't ask for more.
