Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
A quiet setting in the beautiful Central Hawke's Bay, this lovely one bedroom guesthouse provides the rural setting for those wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle. Just off Highway 2, on a small working farm, you will have access to spacious gardens and by arrangement a “meet-and-greet” with the sheep and their favourite bickies. Waipawa township is a 5 minute drive or a leisurely 15 minute walk to shops and cafes. Free wifi and tea and coffee is included.

The space
We trust we can provide you with access to the quiet and relaxing space our rural property. Unlike many places, we are on a small working farm and so this provides you with access to the rural setting, and interaction with the animals if you would like. The property is far enough out of town so as to be out of traffic noise and township lights, but close enough for a leisurely stroll down to one of the local cafes. Do bear in mind it is pretty much downhill into town, so the walk back takes a bit more work on the legs.

Guest access
You will have access to the whole guesthouse. Although it is attached to the main farm house it is self contained with the connecting door to the farm house being locked for your added privacy. The guesthouse has its own separate front entrance and so you can come and go as you please.

The guesthouse has its own kitchen, with a microwave, kettle, cutlery etc provided for your use. A stove is also available, but only by prior arrangement (a service fee will be payable for its use). Unfortunately we have had to make this change due to the amount of extra cleaning we have had to do from the stove’s use from some recent visits.

Undercover parking is provided and this is right outside the front door to the guesthouse.

In addition to full guesthouse usage you can also enjoy the gardens around the property and, when in season, pick your own fruit from the variety of fruit trees growing the property.

If you would like to have some interaction with the livestock during your stay we can organise a “meet-and-greet” during feeding time with their favourite bickies.

Other things to note
A couple of additional bits of information regarding WiFi and the bathroom.

WiFi
A shared ADSL internet connection (Max 1Mbps up, 10Mbps down), provided
through a shared wireless router, is available for guests on a fair use
basis. Rural connectivity is not as robust as urban locations; the service
is provided on the understanding that performance and availability are
variable and outside our control. Likewise, a modern television is provided
for guests through a shared satellite link that is affected by local
coverage issues from time to time, including atmospheric and geographical
anomalies. Cell phone reception is generally very good, for both voice and
data, but 4G coverage in the area is intermittent and regularly varies for
each carrier.

Bathroom
For those less mobile a toilet overseat frame and a shower stool are available upon request.

Waipawa is a delightful small rural town, set on the banks of the Waipawa River (which flows between Waipawa and Waipukurau). The township has all the basics one might need, local supermarket, petrol station and cafes. Having visited cafes all around the world, the local cafe Mumma G's is worth a visit, with great coffee and a good selection of food for a snack or lunch.
