My home was built in the early 1900’s during the heyday of the Albuquerque Railyards. When I bought it, it was partly burned, horribly added on to, and only a faint reminder of the history that it was surely steeped in. In an effort to hold onto that history I tore off 3 separate additions and brought the structure back to its original foundation. With 3 walls and part of the roof still intact we started the rebuilding process. A year later the home is now a modern take on that 1900’s home.

The space
Interested in tiny living. I am! My home is 525 square feet and 1 bedroom. It has an additional loft space (500 square feet) that is accessed by a steep ships ladder. Only the steadiest and calmest climbers should head up.

The whole place is yours!

Other things to note
The “original foundation” of the home gave me 525 square feet to work within. I took full advantage of that space with a street facing, full kitchen, dining and living room space. The bed room is towards the back and has a door to the back deck and yard. The bed is a memory foam mattress and the room includes a small walk in closet and lots of storage. An onsite washer and dryer is provided for your laundry needs. In the vein of taking full advantage of the space I converted the attic to insulated space with its own mini split heat and AC. Only the steadiest climbers are allowed as it is accessed by a steep ships ladder, but it is a wonderful space and can easily sleep 4 or be a light filled relaxation space for 1. On demand hot water makes for relaxing showers. High speed internet for your connected needs. Come and stay awhile!

Location

Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States

My home is located just south of the heart of downtown Albuquerque. It is located within walking distance of a wonderfully large array of services and fun. Restaurants, grocery stores, theaters, the Albuquerque convention center, zoo, botanical gardens, and aquarium, a bike share pick up location (by Zagster). Also, it is down the block from the start of our new city wide, 50-Mile Activity Loop and the Downtown Transit Center where you can catch the RailRunner Commuter Train to Santa Fe. Look for the information binder to provide more specifics and recommendations.

I am a designer, contractor, and artist under it all. I love creating and I love sharing what I create. My kids are amazing bundles of curiosity and energy, and inspire me to be more curious too.
