Where you’ll be

Salina, Oklahoma, United States

Great area to stay in if you want to get away from having bumper to bumper traffic, noisy neighbors, or just like being away from the city and having more of a solitude environment for a change. This area of the country consists of lots of country folks who raise livestock, chickens, horses, cattle, etc, and you will find that most people are just genuine country people willing to help out and lend a hand. You will not be bothered by anyone around here. It is quiet and peaceful...There is a restaurant within a 5 minute drive called "Country Cottage" serving a buffet of country cooking, as well as fast food and Mexican food choices, Sonic, Mazzios, Los Cocos, Subway, and Pig- n Out in Salina is just minutes away and has some great fast food with extra large portions! Two mexican restaurants in the two nearby towns within 3 to 4 miles.

We are a married couple who love the outdoors! We have 3 married children and love living in the country! We love the area where we live, the freedom, the space, and the peacefulness it offers us. We feel very fortunate to be living right across the lake to enjoy fishing and lake sports, and we also have the timber here to hunt in the Spring and Fall months. We are also close to many other lakes in Oklahoma that offer great fishing and other recreational water activities. We are both ( very country at heart ), and love to cook out on the grill, smoke brisket, pork, ribs, bologna, and other meats for friends and family. We occasionally host fish fry's and have family and friends over to socialize. We ride 4 wheeler's for relaxation, fish, kayak, go boating, and enjoy being on the water most all of the season's. Kevin is very crafty with all kinds of projects such as welding, fabricating, or coming up with new ideas to make things work better. He has welded some awesome horse-shoe projects, and can make just about anything! We feel very fortunate to have great neighbors we can count on who would help out at anytime of the day or night, and feel like they are part of our family! When we travel, we usually look for a log cabin or country space. Just someplace where we can enjoy the outdoors and nature versus being in the city. Kevin loves to hunt deer, elk, turkey, pheasant, squirrels, and he loves to fish. He is one of the best at smoking all kinds of meats and brisket is a favorite! I love to garden and enjoy DIY projects. I cook much of the time, and also love to can fresh garden produce, make salsa, pasta sauce, jelly, preserves, and fresh fruits and vegetable medleys which taste wonderful in the winter months. We love meeting new people and learning about where they are from and what they are about! Kevin has never met a stranger, and he will talk all day if you want to. I am the one checking on you and want to make sure everything is going great when you stay at our cabin so we hope to meet you soon!
