Other things to note

We want to mention that our next door neighbor is building a house, the construction is infrequent and most days there is not much noise. We are in communication with him and try to keep updated on the construction schedule, so please check with us about any concerns as we will do our best to let you know if there will be work during the days that you will be staying.

Most of the reviews that you see about the construction happened during a time that they had an earth mover and were digging for the foundations. There were some very noisy days during this time, but that work is complete.

This is a gem of a spot. Bright and airy with a zen-like feel. Loved the contemporary touches and all the interesting books. A well curated collection of treasures, felt like we got to know Sarah through these special touches. A perfect spot for two couples, you have your own bedroom, washroom and lovely sitting areas. A real retreat on the 2nd floor, we loved it. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Venice Beach with restaurants, shopping and the beach close-by but far enough away that you felt you had a bit of respite from the busyness. I would highly recommend this home.

Second time staying here. The house is great as last time and the location is awesome. The beach, great restaurants, bakeries, coffee, bars, shops all within walking distance. Sarah was easy to communicate with. Overall a great chill long weekend by the beach. Looking forward to coming back.

Sarah's place is perfect for two couples or 4-6 people who know each other well as there are two large couches that people can sleep on. The location is super convenient as it is walking distance to many of the Venice restaurants, which is very helpful given how hard it is to find parking in the commercial areas of Venice. Street parking is easy to find and the apartment is very spacious, clean, and well appointed. We would definitely consider staying here again if we come up to LA with 4 or more people.

I had a really great stay. Sarah's place was private and bright and airy. It was a peaceful retreat but close to all of the great places on Abbot Kinney. Would definitely stay again.

Our family (3 kids plus a babysitter) stayed here for two weeks. There was plenty of room for everyone but unfortunately that didn't mean quiet nights. If you are traveling with babies who are Jetlagged notify the neighbors and bring earplugs. This isn't a place where you can apply your sleeptraining skills. Our two screaming babies kept everyone up for days. That said, this house is in a perfect location and you couldn't ask for more. Since we didn't have a car during the days while my husband was at work, we could walk anywhere with the stroller. 10 minutes to the beach (which is priceless), 5 minutes to Abbot Kinney or Rose Avenue. For grocery shopping you can hop in a $5 taxi to Whole Foods (or walk the 20 minutes). The area feels very safe, and the surrounding blocks are beautiful for a stroll. The house has literally everything you need. The kitchen is well equipped and we were able to cook every day without missing anything. The downstairs room is quite cold and dark in the morning, which is perfect when the weather is hot outside, but not so great when you have kids that are still crawling on the floor. The upstairs, however, is bright, warm and lovely. That said, the kids absolutely loved it, especially the cupboard full of toys. Currently there is construction across the street as well as next door which is still an empty lot. Both of them can start as early as 7:30am which didn't bother us because our kids wake us up earlier than that. However the noise during the day was sometimes unbearable with the windows vibrating. We once decided to have lunch on the patio but had to abort, because it was that loud. That said, they weren't working every day, it was pretty random. Out of the two weeks there were maybe 4-5 bad days, plus we were always home during the day because of the baby's nap schedule. So if you are exploring LA during the day you probably wouldn't even notice it. Sarah was upfront about this, so it wasn't a surprise. Just annoying. Sarah was an incredible host who always got back to us within minutes, and we definitely had a million questions. Super patient and very accommodating. She even supplied a second crib since we have twins.

Sarah User ProfileSarah is a superhost.

I am a Santa Monica, CA native but spent time growing up in both CA and NY. I have my own Interior Design business here in Los Angeles and love living near the beach.

I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring on our bikes, hiking and traveling to see family in NY and Paris.

I love all things beautiful and try to see the beauty in simple and unexpected moments.

When I travel I like to experience a location as though I am a local and can walk a new city for hours taking in architecture and people.

As a host I want my guests to feel completely taken care of as if they have just arrived home.
