Welcome to Four Directions Cottage which, as the name suggests, has magnificent views in all directions.
From the cottage you overlook Bantry Bay, The Sheep's Head Peninsula, Bere Island, Bear Haven, the Atlantic Ocean and behind the cottage, the majestic Hungry Hill, featured in Daphne du Maurier's famous novel.
Relax in an original, secluded, charming Irish cottage facing due south with it's own private entrance drive and gardens on the beautiful, unspoilt Beara Peninsula.
The fully equipped cottage, which sleeps up to 4 (a double bed and a twin bedded mezzanine loft), has been tastefully renovated to meet today's standards and comforts while retaining all its charm and individuality.
The cottage, which is open all the year round, is in an ideal location to enjoy the many activities of the area, walking, cycling, golf, hiking, fishing, water sports, sight seeing and is on the Beara Way Walking and Cycling Route.
You will find so much of interest in Castletownbere, Kenmare, Glengarriff, Adrigole, Bantry, Allihies and Eyeries all within easy reach of the cottage.
Visit the famous McCarthy's Bar from Pete McCarthy's book, the Dzogchen Beara Tibetan Buddhist Retreat, Allihies Copper Mine Museum, The Italian Garden on Garinish Island, the many art galleries and beautiful beaches.
The non smoking cottage retains many of its original features and is deceptively spacious - there is a cosy wood burning stove and electric/storage radiators.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Separate fully fitted shower room.
The main bedroom features a double bed, fitted wardrobes, dressing table and you will find a hairdryer, towels and all bed linen.
The unique bed loft with two single beds is accessed from the open plan kitchen/seating area by an easy fun retractable stair ladder. We recommend that the bed loft is suitable for children over the age of 8 years.

We moved to Ireland in July 2013 having fallen in love with this wonderful country many years ago when we first came here for our holidays. My husband's parents were born and raised in Ireland so he was very familiar with West Cork.
We have continued to come here for the last 30 years for our holidays and the beauty of the West of Ireland never fails to amaze us.
We finally decided to live here on the spectacular unspoilt Beara Peninsula where we are really happy and have renovated our charming cottage for guests to enjoy their holidays.
We have now been Airbnb hosts for over 2 years and have met many great guests from all over the world. We really love being hosts and our it is our main aim to ensure our guests have the best holiday experience possible while staying in our cottage.
