Your quiet retreat after a busy day exploring San Francisco. Located in a quiet residential hilltop neighborhood, with little traffic and amazing views this is your place to come back to and recharge.

Garage parking in SF! Don't worry about finding a street spot, what days have street cleaning, or your car's safety. Just open the garage door via your phone, pull in, and you're home.

Ground floor suite with a private entrance, comfortable queen bed, bathroom, kitchenette and laundry

The space
This is a very quiet and private suite that has it’s own private entrance through the garage. Being located in a quiet residential neighborhood, it means you get to live like a local, and away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas.

The bedroom is pretty unique, it's finished with the wood panelling from an old church. There's even the wooden beams and carved cutouts for holding candles or relics. It was also used as a wine cellar for a decade, and has been decorated with various maps of wine country, lids from cases from imported wine, etc.

There's a queen bed, with a comfortable mattress, comforter and many extra blankets to ensure you don't get cold. It's stocked with about 8 pillows, so you can find one you like for a good nights rest.

The kitchen is setup with everything you need to be able to reheat left overs, or cook basic meals. There's a microwave, hot plate, normal fridge, pots, pans, coffee maker, etc. Since the corner store is a good few blocks away, I also provide some snacks and breakfast items. It's typically stocked with cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars, and a quart of milk.

In the freezer you'll find a few Trader Joe's frozen emergency meals. If you come in after 10pm, very few things are left open, and there's nothing worse than going to bed hungry when you're on vacation.

I've worked pretty hard to make sure there's good wifi coverage, I can get normally 30-40mbits in the suite, and no limit on the number of devices you can connect. The TV has Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Youtube and local channels.

There's a desk with a reading lamp and chair if you need to get plan your next day, or get some work done.

In the garage is a shared washer and dryer, and iron and ironing board.

Guest access
You have access to the garage, the laundry machine/dryer, the suite and the entry way. Basically everything on the ground flood.

Upstairs is my house. I try my best to respect my guests privacy and I would appreciate the same in return. If you're going up stairs, you're going the wrong way.

Other things to note
Full Disclosure:

1. This is an SF garage space, and there are two spaces side-by side one for my car and one for your car. But being San Francisco this fits a typical _car_ you might have in a dense city. Compact cars fit well, full size cars do fit if you're comfortable backing in with inches to spare. Small cross overs can sometimes fit, but SUVs, trucks, RVs do not fit. Thankfully there is lots easy street parking. Also passengers won't be able to open their door when parked in the garage, they have to get into/out of the car before pulling into the garage.

2. It's called Hilltop Hideway because I really am on a hilltop. SF is known for it's hill and this is one of the highest being nearly level with Twin Peaks. So everything is downhill from here, which also means it's uphill back again. I've been known to walk down the hill, then get a $5 Uber back up hill. It also means I'm a about 3/4 or a mile away from shops, and hustle and bustle of the city. On the other hand the views are amazing with Sutro tower on one side, and amazing sunsets over the pacific on the other.

3. The in-law suite has 3 windows, and it looks out under my deck, and you access it via a door that opens out into the garage. It has good lightning, but it doesn't have a huge amount of natural light pouring in since all the windows are on one side. On the other hand, it's super quiet and an amazing retreat and escape from the noise of the city.

4. There is a nest camera that looks down on the gate to the house, an outside area. I value my privacy, and I value yours. I use the camera to see if packages have been delivered, and to verify my cleaners have come and gone.

Location

Golden Gate Heights, San Francisco, California

Golden Gates Height is a very quite hilltop neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The only people who drive up here are residents. The views are phenomenal with my side looking out over Twin Peaks, and the other side looking out into infinity over the pacific. The sunsets are amazing.

Especially in the summer we can get fogged in for days at a time. This can lead to chilly mornings and evenings.

The bus is 2 blocks away, and an Uber or Lyft can get you across town in about 20-30 minutes. The Forrest Hill Muni (underground subway) stop is about 15 minutes walk downhill.

It’s a quick walk 1 mike down to Irving St restaurants, Noriega St or even West Portal.
