Spring, Summer and Fall Activities in the Surrounding Area

The main attractions are kayaking, canoeing, boating and swimming on Roddick lake. The rock formations on the islands are exceptional.

Roddick Lake Hiking Trail: A well marked trail will take you to a belvedere with a magnificent view. If you continue further you will reach lac Lochiel. The cottage is close to the trail but it must be accessed by boat. To find it from the cottage, just follow the shore to the right, go past the little island, and at the second bay on your right hand side you will see a large dock where you can leave the boat. From there, follow the signs to the Belvedere. Roddick lake hiking trail map

Fishing on the lake: The water on Roddick lake is crystal clear. The lake bottom is rocky, sandy/muddy. The lake from end to end covers 13km and is over 175ft deep in certain spots. The lake water is great for fishing. Trout, bass, pike, sunfish, perch, carp, sturgeon, walleye and cat fish can all be found in this lake.

Pont-De-Pierre: Pont-de-Pierre is an amazing hike about 45 minutes from the cottage. Click here for directions to Pont-de-Pierre.

Pont-Savoyard at Grand-Remous: This covered bridge is just North of Maniwaki Click here for more information.

The White-Tail Deer Interpretation Centre: The White-tail Deer Interpretation Centre is in nearby Ste-Therese-de-la-Gatineau. I love travelling! I really appreciate a clean, comfortable and well-equipped home when I travel. I wanted our cottage to be this place for you! I can't live without my lip balm, sunscreen, music, my family and of course, cheese! My favourite quote is: The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.
