This listing is for the 2nd bedroom for Titirangi Waterfront. Includes double bed, louvre windows, seagrass carpet and a forest view. Set in a big garden on estuary edge. Portacot and bluetooth speaker available. Beautiful coastal and forest walks.
The house is light, and airy and nestled in the forest but is elevated for full sun, with large decks. It is peaceful and private and has a glimpse of the water from the house. There are great views from most of the windows. Also there is a bush track down to the beautiful estuary of Little Muddy Creek. In this area there are numerous beautiful walks both from the house and further afield, both coastal and in the forest and a children's playground is a short bush walk away. There is a bus right at the gate that goes into New Lynn and leaves every hour at 8.30, 9.30, 10.30pm etc.
All guests have access to all of the living space in the house (except my office). The bathroom is new. The kitchen is original but roomy.
Interaction with guests
I like to interact with my guests and I love a great conversation and hearing your stories. However I also really like silence and quiet.... and as there are many beautiful birds in the garden, the forest and the estuary, then its lovely to hear them chiming away and this place is about sanctuary, relaxing and rejevenation. Then again on occasion we also like to turn the music up and dance around the living room or the garden when it feels right.
Generally I like to do yoga and work on my book in the morning and interact more fully with my guests in the late afternoon and evening and even if possible share a meal or two. Also happy to cook separately also and give my guests the space they need. There is a cupboard in the kitchen and space in the fridge for guests food. Cooked meals are available on request for a charge but must be advised at time of booking so I can be prepared.
Other things to note
Please indicate in your booking whether or not you require separate rooms. There are two bedrooms available and they each have a double bed. Each room costs $50 per night for the first person and another $25 for the second. If you are booking for two people wanting separate rooms the charge will be $100 per night. The Air BnB price of $75 relates to a couple booking 1 room.
Also if you are backpackers and want to do a special deal in exchange for some help in the garden, or firewood etc....then request the dates and then send me an enquiry and I'm happy to negotiate.
There is also a recycling bin outside the laundry door for empty bottles and cans. If you do have a lot of rubbish at the end of a long stay in New Zealand I can give you a rubbish bag for $2.50.
1. It's a smoke-free space (that means garden and house),
2. Shoes off inside,
3. We keep the toilet seat down.!
4. No excessive drinking.
I am a writer, architect and ecological designer. I also do yoga, and am a keen gardener. I've travelled widely and most recently spent a year in Paris working on a book. I utterly love the landscape where I live. In the 13 years since I have lived here it has been a source of incredible joy to live with such beauty. I feel very blessed and love to share this with my guests. I'm happy to give you the space and quiet you need, and interact if you need that also...You can let me know either way.
I will do everything humanely possible to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. However I have half an acre of land to look after alongside the running of the house so just to point out that I am a human being not a hotel.
