Guest access

Our guests have enjoyed staying in the cozy apartment adjacent to my ceramics studio decorated with some of my finished ware. The unit is a 14x 19 room with additional sleeping accommodations in the upstairs loft. It has bathroom with shower and kitchenette that includes an 10 cu.ft. fridge and apartment size gas range with oven. Basic cooking and dining equipment are on hand for eating in. In the carpeted sleeping loft, a few steps up a fold-down ladder, are a queen size mattress and a twin size mattress. The loft is not suitable for young children. Downstairs, a couch opens into a double bed or can become the platform for a queen airbed. Wifi and a lockup for mountain bikes are included. The studio is situated on 10 wooded acres 3 1/2 miles, about 12 minutes, from Nevada City on a well-maintained county road. Just minutes away is a 500 acre tract of BLM land now known as the South Yuba Wild and Scenic Recreation area, with miles of trails perfect for hiking or mountain biking, even gold panning down at the South Fork of the Yuba River! These woods are lovely, dark and deep – private, quiet and ideal for stargazing!

Interaction with guests

We live in the nearby main house with our rescued Doberman, Sweetie, and our cat Gak, so we would be open to the possibility of your pet as a guest. We ask that guests do not leave Fido (or Fida) home alone. If you must leave for a short while, we can provide a large, collapsible crate for your pet.

This is a cozy and charming cottage in the woods. Near the river and beautiful hiking trails. The best thing about this place is the quiet. Also, the kitchen is exceptionally well equipped for a rental. Linda and Jason are fantastic hosts. I look forward to staying here again.

A great place to stay, snuggled away just outside of the downtown area. Quiet and relaxing. You will not be disappointed if it's solitude you seek. The decor is fun and kitchen nicely stocked. Also I loved the towels!

Loved this beautiful space. So comfortable and welcoming. If you wanna feel like you are camping in the Forrest but in luxury this is it. Sit outside at night fresh air and a symphony of the sounds of nature. Loved it and so relaxing.

A small space, but very comfortable. Linda included so many thoughtful amenities. The kitchen is well stocked with utensil and pans. Space is filled with interesting ceramic art, books, magazines, puzzles and games. Lovely setting, great area for peaceful walks on pavement in a rural area and also in completely natural settings. Kind and generous folk. It was a pleasure. We would love to come back.

Staying in Linda's ceramic studio was such a unique experience. It's a super cozy micro-space well equipped with all your needs. She even had unique children's story books and wereally enjoyed her unique collection of art and ceramics. We had a wonderful stay and Linda was very responsive. We'd love to visit again.

This place is a gem. From sitting outside in the woods behind the cottage to making coffee in the Chemex, I was so relaxed! I really appreciate that Linda is willing to share her art with guests too. Enjoy!
