If you are still thinking about it, I say, just do it ! Book this place and you won't regret it. It was our first time at the cabin (we stayed at yurts before) and we were not disappointed. The place is exactly as described, beautiful and cozy inside. The outdoor shower is a …

Great space; very romantic and cozy for two! Only complaint were the bugs in the cabin; make sure to wear long sleeves and pants even at night! Overall amazing stay! We had a lot of fun!

Great space to unwind and has everything guests might need. The location scenery is beautiful but unfortunately we couldn't go for a hike or swim in the lake due to the fly season.

I first came across John and Laura's cabins on the Escape Toronto (Hidden by Airbnb) page. I immediately wanted to book one because it looked like the perfect getaway. Laura and John communicated with us up to and throughout our stay at their cabin and answered all our questions,…

We had an absolute blast at this cabin. The communication was by far the best we’ve ever experienced with our stays! Everything was exactly as described and everything we needed was provided. The bugs outside were very bad; however, that was expected this time of year and we we…

Thanks for staying with us, guys. It was a pleasure hosting you both. It's always a drag to find bugs in the cabin. (Those bugs are actually a type of beetle common to the area). We do our best to spray the cabin and leave traps out, but bugs can (and sometimes do) get inside the cabin, especially through open windows and doors. Thanks for being so easy going. Look forward to hosting you again.

Thank you for letting us stay! It’s a beautiful little cabin and very relaxing. Would be a good idea to have some sort of awning from the sun though as it does get very very hot not having any shade at all and the water was very very swampy and stinky. The bugs were horrible so w…

Response from John:
Hi Julie. Thanks for your review. We always appreciate feedback from our guests. We've been fortunate to have a stellar track record for positive reviews at both our cabins. All our cabins are backcountry wilderness cabins. We market them as great venues for people wanting a camping-like experience in comfort. Sadly, bugs are a reality of being in the wilderness. June is notoriously a bad season for bugs. We remind all our guests to bring along bug spray. As for seating, we have log stumps around our campfire for a rustic feel. There are also two comfortable patio chairs on the deck that guests are free to bring down to the fire. We don't have a swimming raft, no, but we do provide a complimentary canoe for our guests to paddle out to the swimming dock for clean and deep swimming, as our shoreline is indeed wild. We do our best to make the realities of our cabin as upfront and clear as possible in our detailed description and the pictures on our listing. For this reason, we've managed to attract some amazing guests over the year wanting to experience a true wilderness retreat (as opposed to a cottage environment).
