So what is there to do in and around Kaikohe?
We have the 'world famous in NZ' Ngawha Springs natural hot water springs about 5 minutes drive. We have 20 km's of easy bike trail following the old railway line to Okaihau. Bike hire is available in Kaikohe.
Kaikohe is located in the Mid-North, midway between the Bay of Islands on the east coast and the Hokianga Harbour on the west coast both about 30 minutes away.
In the east is Paihia with the famous Waitangi Treaty House situated in its lovely grounds and historic buildings. On the west coast is the famous Hokianga harbour with old historic townships of Rawene, Omapere, and beautiful Opononi with it's glorious golden sand hills.. Also in the west you will find the the Famous Waipoua Forest with the ancient giant kauri tree "Tane Mahuta" (King of the Forest)
On the way to Kaikohe don't forget to call at the famous Hundertwasser toilets in Kawakawa, an international work of art.
If you want to experience the delights of rustic small town New Zealand surrounded by many of the top tourist attractions in New Zealand, come and stay with us in Kaikohe! We look forward to hosting you!
