Your outdoorsy-style room in Snohomish is close to everything Washington State has to offer: Seattle, Cascades, Eastern Washington, BC, Woodinville wine country. Breakfast items and coffee are available. This room sleeps three comfortably.

The space

Your room is light, blue, and has a nice pastoral view. There is a double futon bed and a twin bed with plenty of shelf space for your things and hangers on the back of the door. It's very comfortable and the temperature can be controlled by opening the window or using the wall-mounted thermostat. There is a bookshelf in the room with a variety of books. If you prefer to read about Seattle and find maps of where to go, I have plenty of those too, in the hall between the rooms.

Your home for a day or as long as you want, is a 1901 country farm-style house sitting on a 1/3 acre of its own grass and surrounded on three sides by other people's grass. There is a long driveway where you can park your tractor, horse, or car. If you just want to sit and enjoy the green and the space, there are two porches (one with a swing) and a large deck in the backyard.

Guest access

If you really want that 'home away from home' feeling, feel free to use the lawn mower and weed whacker. Or just go for the barbeque, the huge deck in the backyard, living and dining rooms, and of course the shared bathroom. Free WiFi is available throughout the house and you are welcome to use the large television in the living room. This is Washington State, the home of Starbucks, so there is always a way to get coffee here in this house.

Interaction with guests

I, or someone else, will be around when you are most of the time - I live here. I will not bug you, won't clean the room while you are in it, won't ask you to fold my laundry, but I love to get to know my guests. I am a tour guide, so I like to talk about Seattle, its history, and all the cool things to do in this state.

Other things to note

I have pets - 2 dogs and some cats. They don't own the house, but they like to think they rule it.

On an individual basis, I would consider hosting your dog too.

I'm a camper and hiker so I naturally live by the 'Leave No Trace' policy wherever I go. And I'd like my guests to do the same. Sort of a 'if you spill it, clean it up; if you drop it, pick it up; if you use it, put it back; if you break it, replace it' policy. Check-in and Check-out times are flexible, just keep in contact so we can coordinate the timing. No smoking or drugs anywhere on the property and quiet hours 10:00pm to 6:00am. Carole's place was wonderful! A lovely country home with all the amenities. Carole is a special host who loves to serve and is very flexible. We enjoyed getting to know her and her dogs and she was extremely knowledgeable about the area as well. I would highly recommend this clean, cozy, country home.

We put this together at the last minute and we did not read the whole listing. We were happy to have a room. We did not know what services were supposed to be included so we were happy when Carole said My house is your house. We missed the part about multiple cats. My wife is allergic to cats. We proceeded to live there. If we were not on assignment we were at the house. I do not think that is common for many of her customers Most were probably gone most of the day. The location was close to where our son lives and that was good. We could walk to most services in the town. At different times during our stay my wife and I were each out of the house at least three weeks(about a third of our stay). One time we were gone at the same time and a new couple was in the other room for that week. So, there were three people still in the house. Lucky for the landlord. Because of the allergies it is not likely that we will be able to return. Our best to Carole.

Really enjoyed our stay. Carole was very welcoming and generous. The room was great. The dogs/cats were cool; definitely be aware if you have allergies, though.

We had a fantastic time staying at Carole's charming home for a few days. We came up from San Francisco for a dear friend's wedding in Snohomish and were looking for a place close to the venue but also looking for something really chill. We had no idea what a treat it would be! We are animal lovers and were so excited to spend our morning playing fetch with the two doggies in the huge expanse of field behind the house. To our delight there was also a litter of seven week old kitties, too! Carole is a great foster parent and volunteer to animals. We even skipped out on exploring the town because we had such a ball enjoying her beautiful home and animals. So relaxing. She was also really accommodating to a last minute addition (my best girlfriend and her dog) to our reservation on the second night. We are so grateful because we were in a pinch. She has a wealth of knowledge of the area and a very interesting person to connect with! I highly recommend this place!!

Carole's house was great and just what we needed after biking 30 miles from Seattle. The kitties were cute too. Thanks Carole!
