We live in a quiet, but central, part of Santa Teresa and only down the street, you can find traditional bars, charming cafés, restaurants, souvenir shops, and enjoy a beautiful view over the city. Our neighbourhood is famous for its numerous historical houses in colonial architecture and is known as one of the favourites spots for artist residences and studios. It is located on the top of a hill and in a walking distance from Lapa and the center from Rio. Up and down the street from our place you find bus and tram stations.
Our goal is to offer you a joyful experience and we are pleased to give tips and advices about special places in Rio.
Since we may have other guests in the meantime, we kindly ask our guests to avoid making too much noise if it's too late or too early. It's also not allowed to smoke inside the room.
I moved from Berlin to Rio in 2012. Davi and me bought this big old house that needed a lot of work to be done. We renovated it completely and tried to keep it as original as possible. We did most of the work ourselves, so it took about 4 years to complete it. Since we had more space than we needed, we decided to give Airbnb a try and it's being a really good experience since. We have been lucky to have nice guests that share many common interests and have a fun time in the city.
I work also with photography (artistic, street) and some graphic design. Davi works as a carpenter building furniture. Most of the house's furniture was made by him. If guests share these (or other) interests, we are always open to show and hand out, what we know about brazilian culture, habits, photographers, artists and etc.
