Scotts Head, New South Wales, Australia

Scotts Head is a surfing and fishing oriented village on the mid North Coast of New South Wales, halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. Take a 2–5 minute walk to the local shops – grocery, cafes, bottle-o, butcher and bakery. Walk straight down to swim or surf at Little Beach right out the front of the unit. From Little Beach you can walk over the north beach path near the surf club to Big Beach (also called Fosters beach, or Main Beach) for a more protected swimming area or longboard waves on the Point.
Catch a glimpse of dolphins in the sea all year-round and and see whales during spring and autumn. If you notice a small brown head popping out at the beach – that’s our resident sea turtle saying hello.
Scotts Head is home to a myriad of native fauna and boasts the largest number of different reptile species in the whole of Australia.

The local Yariabini national park has beautiful nature walks and a scenic picnic site “The Pines”, with a mosaic mural by local Aboriginal artists, depicting the Yariabini mountain section of the sea creation story.

The Unkya local Aboriginal land council provide authentic and fascinating cultural Bush Tucker tours in the nearby Gaagal Wangaan National park and surrounds.

Hi I’m Sierra, I co host with Sam at Brahminy Point in Scotts Head. I have lived here for over 25 years and I still fall in love with it everyday. There are endless national parks, beautiful beaches and rivers to explore. While here you may get lucky to see the other locals the whales, dolphins and a variety of wildlife. Scotts head is a quiet little beach town where you can recharge and chill out. It’s the perfect place to get away and soak up nature. I’m always happy to help if you need anything and guide you around our wonderful town.
