This cabin is off the grid, candle light, outdoor and indoor kitchen area, propane back up heat, romantic and cozy, private fire pit, with Super Host status!

The space
By staying in the cabin you are helping me save a breeding a herd of buffalo. Thank you! The cabin is a beautiful space; a simple but wonderful atmosphere with babbling creek and pools right in front, a private porch and lawn. The cabin is entirely off grid. Loft with bed, candle light, lanterns, fairy lights, wood-fired cedar sauna stove which heats the building wonderfully (all fire wood provided). No electricity or running water! We provide you with fresh filtered water. Cook with the propane bbq with extra burner, camping stove, in the outdoor kitchen, and eat alfresco on the porch. Prepare dinner & dine in the indoor kitchenette (with pans, pots, coolers & utensils). There is a second heater fuelled by gas (just in case), a composting toilet and a solar shower. Kitchenette is fully-stocked with all essentials, all you need to bring is food!

Guest access
Guests can make themselves at home, wandering walking, snowshoeing, skiing around the ranch, down to the river, where you can continue for 26km up the river to the Mummery Glacier. If you find a rope across the driveway, please open it drive through and close it again behind you.

There is one buffalo tour every morning at 10:15 a.m. from May 15th until September 30th. It's $30 per person, takes about an hour and a half, and ends with a native fire making demonstration called a bow drill. In winter when if I have time, I am happy to take guests to see the buffalo and tell them a bit about them. Guests can also view the buffalo on their own at anytime.

Other things to note
The ranch is a perfect place for people to get away and re-charge. You can go for walks, snowshoe, and cross country ski on our trails all the way to the beautiful Blaeberry River that runs through the ranch, and rarely see another person.

We very strongly prefer a two night minimum stay, but sometimes make exceptions for example when there is one night open between bookings. The cabin accommodates two adults. Queen bed in loft.

Neighbourhood highlights

The cabin is totally private. The area is a rural Canadian Neighborhood of friendly country folks with more young families moving in. The roads are great for bike riding and exploring the whole Blaeberry Valley, it's like being in the park without the crowds.
