A beautiful air conditioned house with 9 foot ceilings on the main, a 150 sq foot deck overlooking the backyard with clear mountain views and a back family room with large windows, that flows perfectly into the backyard's lovely garden, lawn, and patio, where you'll find a grill (BBQ), and a cool evening place to hang. The heart of Commercial Drive, a street well known for it's variety of ethnic cuisine, shopping opportunities, and people watching, is 3 blocks West and a short walk north.

The space
The house is well suited for families. The main floor has a sweet bunk room, and a room with a double murphy bed, which can double as an office. Also located on the main floor is a family or media room independent from the open concept kitchen, living, and dining room. This is a great spot to relax and chat about the day, while preparing some food or having a beverage.

The house transitions nicely into the back yard which is a cool and relaxing spot in the late afternoon where you can listen to the fountain and visiting birds.

Our home is a beautiful house located on a quiet, two block, family oriented cul-de-sac street. The main floor has 9 foot ceilings and two main floor bedrooms with a double murphy bed in one (this bedroom could double as an office), and a twin captain's bed and custom elevated twin bed in the other. Walk through the kitchen and upstairs to a spacious master with a queen size bed, and a day bed, en-suite bathroom with shower, and a 150 sq foot deck that overlooks the backyard and has clear mountain views.
On the main level, the back family room with its large windows, flows nicely into the backyard's lovely garden, lawn, and patio. You'll find an impressive variety of birds stopping off to bath in the fountain amidst a tasteful garden. Also in the backyard, there is a grill (BBQ), a sandbox, and a playhouse tucked behind a rhododendron. Best of all, it's a nice cool evening place to hang.

You'll find family oriented and pleasant neighbours on the entire street.

There are ceiling speakers in the living room and kitchen with a Sonos Play speaker in the back room and upstairs to easily integrate your favourite music to your stay.

Where you’ll be

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

The house is located 2 blocks from Trout Lake and John Hendry Park, home to the popular Trout Lake Farmer's Market. Trout Lake, as well as having a great little life guarded beach and concession, has a new fully equipped community center, 3 tennis courts, an outdoor basketball and ball hockey court, two great playgrounds, and regular activities like live music, ethnic festivals, festival of lights, and local fire swingers / jugglers .

The heart of Commercial Drive, a street well known for it's variety of ethnic cuisine, shopping opportunities, and people watching, is 3 blocks West and a short walk north.
There is a skytrain station within a 10 minutes walk from the house that opens access to Vancouver's vast public transit system, getting you downtown in 12 minutes, and virtually anywhere in the lower mainland that you want to go. It is an eight minute car ride to get downtown, and an 8 minute car ride to get onto Highway #1 which will take you straight to the North Shore, leading to Squamish and Whistler. The location is great for being tucked into a quiet little neighbourhood, but only minutes to access all Vancouver and surrounding areas have to offer.

My young family and I love to camp (in an old motorhome) during the summer months when school is out - I am a teacher. My wife and I have two children, one in kindergarten, and one in Grade 2. We started our summer camping and exploring when my daughter was one, on a 43 day trip to Dawson City Yukon, and we now look forward to our summer trips all year. It's the best.
